Also, the Search is not available for non-tech messageboards like Lounge, Soapbox, Suggestions etc.
Forget about Soapbox, at least for Lounge and Suggestions, it would be useful.

Search is available for every forum. See the "Search Comments" link at the top right of the forum you are currently in

Actually, when I was mentioning about search in MessageBoards, I was just thinking about the 'Search in MessageBoards' that comes from the results page of 'Article Search' right?
Only after you have pointed out this, I just noticed this link.

Do you have a blog ? , I guess so, we all like CodeProject and check it regularly, the thing is that you don't know about one author, until you check his article, then if you are somehow curious like me, you have a look at his bio and jump to check his blog, so I just want to gather the blogs of CodeProject authors, and make an OPML list, then I will publish it to some common URL, so everyone can import it into his RSS Reader, I think this is a good idea because, when you like one author's article, you get keen to monitor his blog, and read more about his experience and endeavors, please if you are interested about this initiative, and you think you have a good blog that you want to expose it to CodeProject members, reply to this post giving the URL for your blog's feed mentioning the technologies you blog about; so I can categorize the blogs easily, and also if you have any comments to make it better, please don't hesitate!

suggestion: disable/hide the Delete/Modify choices as soon as a reply is present;
this avoids an abundance of orphaned replies in the forums.

Modify, not really. I've found myself misspelling something or leaving something out and go back to modify it right away.

I agree, the ability to improve a message is good.
With a modify button hiowever, you can also clear it completely, which I would like to avoid.
So it would be better to have Delete and Modify being replaced by Append, or something
similar, giving an opportunity to add to the bottom of the existing entry;
or by an Update button, that gives restricted editing possibilities, inserting whatever
you want, but not removing entire words or sentences.
Alternatively a "Modify" after some replies are present, might duplicate the text, keeping
the first copy read-only (maybe shown in gray), and allowing any modification you want,
to the second copy (all inside a single message of course).

I see your point about doing a modification by erasing all of the original post. The graying out is a good idea, Chris, are you reading this?

But we can lock-down modification. Only additions should be allowed since there might be Quoted Text which should not be altered.

Actually, I'd prefer to see the delete of the head delete the entire thread instead. Most of those are just silly threads or flame wars unbecoming of this site.

I actually posted a message (query) in Soapbox and it was answered by another after sometime. When I wanted to post a reply to a part of his message but which does not befit the actual discussion thread, I had to edit the subject to say [Out Of Topic Discussion]. How about a link near 'Create New Message From This', so that it would be a fresh message thread.

In the message editor, it would be great, if there were KeyBoard Accelerators for B, I, < >, link tags right?
That would avoid expecting the user to jump between keyboard and mouse and focus on the message.
