Could the page be reloading after you set the text to ""? If so the value may be being reset to the original value if that was happening during the pageload event.

Javascript will not identify hidden controls.
You need to do following to achieve the same.

1. Keep textbox visible.
2. Define following css class.

<style type="text/css">
    .hidden
    {
        display:none;
    }
    </style>

3. Assign your textbox the class as follow.

<asp:TextBox ID="txtName" runat="server" CssClass="hidden"></asp:TextBox>

for your attention when you set Visible="false" in server side it will not render in client side. if you want to check take View Page Source

Experts,

I have created one windows application and deployed it in some 500 machines in my company. The problem is, the applicaiton is updated weekely atlest. I cannot reinstall the .exe once again in all the 500 machines. Any solution for this.........

I searched through the forum but couldn't find anything that solved my problem.

I have visual studio 2008 installed with .NET 3.5 SP1. In an asp.net application I am trying to write an Inline Javascript function.

<script language ="javascript" type ="text/javascript" >
document.write('Hello world');
</script>

the intellisens under the script tag doesn't seem to work. Like when I type document . nothing comes..

am I missing something or visual studion doesn't support intellisense for JavaScript ?

You need to do two things.

1. First you need to verify that whether javascript intellisense is enable in your Visual Studio IDE
or not??

To do that just go to
Tools->Options->Text Editor->JScript->General section
and see it's "Statement Completion" Block.
Verify that options "Auto list members" and "Parameter information" are checked.

2. Second is prefer to put your javascript in separate ".js" files. Sometimes it will take time to show
you intellisense, when you are using javascript as inline code.

Thanks Jinal for the reply.. I finally found the solution and solution was pretty weird..

I upgraded to Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and now the intellisense in Visual Studio works.
