Hi ,
Can anyone let me know how exactly can uploading and downloading a file (a doc file ) to and from database be done.
What i need is that i want to upload a file say resume.doc to a database and the user say HR Manager clicks on the download button the resume.doc has to get downloaded.
Can anyone please help me out with this.

Save the file path in database and upload the file to a server location. You can use file upload control for upload files.

Well, to work with this, you need to put the ScriptManager into your master page, and use UpdatePanels anywhere to the content pages.
If you dont want all your pages to be Ajax enabled, you can also remove the ScriptManager from the masterpage and do it to the specific content page where you require it.
Other than that, you might also use ScriptManagerProxy if you want to access the script manager from the content pages.
If you are finding any problem doing that, please let me know what exactly the problem you are getting .

Use Sql Server Management tool. I think you can connect any server just using the IP of it (of course if the firewall exemption is given for sqlbrowser)
I dont think you need any tool to do this...

Hi
im getting the error code 502 , i have no idea what does they mean... also on some computers, users can work on it for hours, and the message never apears..
and on another few computers, it apears as soon as the page loads, when the user comes back to the page, in the middle of the function, apparentli as random as it can be...

502 -> Bad Gateway so it's not to do with your application, there's a problem with your network. Get your infrastructure team on the case.

I am installing WSS3.0 in one remote server(ex A). Its asking for Connect to Server Farm and provide two options like existing server farm and new server farm. I have selected New Server Farm. I have another remote database server (ex B). I have given B's machinName and databaseName but it gives error like 'Failed to connect to database server'. Please let me know wt's wrong.
