Hello Everybody
i kept the following code into web.config
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginurl="login.aspx" defaulturl="default.aspx" cookieless="UseUri" timeout="30" slidingexpiration="true" />

and my login.vb as follows
FormsAuthentication.RedirectFromLoginPage(_loginCheck.memberID, False)
I am developing an online ordering system but Im a bit confused, why I am confused?
I am using a session table to keep order information. At the same time more customer logged in into system and adding product into shopping basket.
My question is..
Wheather customer will share the same session table or diffrent session table will be create for diffrent customer?

Sessions will not be shared. So each customer will have their own session. Having said that, keeping shopping cart information in session is not a neat idea. Better way would be to create a table in your database and keep it there. Once the order is placed, remove the data from this table. Keep the shopping cart identifier in session, so you can access the shopping cart data from table using this identifier.

asp.net, regular form authentication.
I want to make sure that IE / firefox suggest my password by auto filling the user and password text boxes, so I don't have to fill those in all the time.
what do I have to do?
I guess the buttons need some sort of clientID so that the browser recognize them as username/password fields?
note:
- it's not about making the form authentication cookie persistent (aka remember me)
- I don't want to store the credentials in a separate cookie, I just want to use the browser functionality.

AFAIK, that is completely controlled by browsers and you have no access on it.

but how does the browser knows this?
somehow a browser can recognize a login form.

You want Browser user id and password would fill automatically or what ? we don't have any control on them. You can stop them to prompt and user should logged with the credentials that they provide in your application.

I don't completely understand your answer.
Yes, I want my browser to auto-complete the username and password boxes.
chrome can do this. when logging in to a site, protected with form authentication.
chrome will suggest you to save the credentials that you have used to authenticate.
The next time when you visit the site, both fields are filled in automatically by the browser.

Hi all,
I am using my shared folder as as a server path in Asp to give a download option in my web application.That is user can download files from my folder. But after hosting in the localhost dowloading shows error(i think some security problem)
help me.

sharing and web sharing is different thing. Make your folder as web share with the with read and write permission.
The miracle is this--the more we share, the more we have.

Hi,
In vs.net 2005 web application.am writing java script for drop down list& text box validation in script tags in html source ,am calling that function in on blur event of that controls,it works fine.My form consists of one drop down,one text box,one radio button list,without selecting any controls alert comes,if selected radio button list's item,and i clears the text box,after pressing tab,alert comes,works fine,after that it is prompting for radio button list alert also.

are you having onBlur on Radio Button also? It is advisable to write event on change event than blur

I can show my report (CR of VS 2005)in my development machine (Asp.Net 2.0 with C# code behind). But after deploying in my server, toolbar images are not displaying in the report.
It is showing as red color (X). I googled and tried some thing to rectify it. But, my problem is not solved so far. Any body can release me. It is urgent pls. Tnx in adv.

i have googled alot but failed to understand the desired result, i want to catch the print event of crystal report so that i can make a log file for that crystal report "that report has been printed" etc etc.... in asp.net for my application
on the other way i have tried to place the button for printing the report but i could not do it properly just as i want to open the pageSetup dialog box as we use in MS word,,

When i open VS2008 and test a website or something, and if at the same time i have other pages open in IE, if i close VS, this will cause all the IE windows to be closed, even is a window has several tabs open (is does ask if you want to close a windows with multiple tabs, but no matter your answer, it will close it anyways)
