Hi
I have a strange problem
I have a button which has a cssclass in it and then in the stylesheet is where i specify the details for it.However it is having no affect on the button
below is the code:

Since you are applying CSS to Server side Control then either you are not specifying CSS class to style tag inside head as follows.

OR you are made separate CSS within the project but not linked CSS to page correctly as follows.

Hello everyone,
I'm using ASP .NET 2.0 and I'm making a login page where I want to implement the remember me functionality such that that user be logged in the next time he comes incase he checked the remember me textbox. Now I've read in some articles over the web that you dont store the password in cookies coz it's potentially dangerous. so my question is how do we authenticate the user on the next time he logs in. Need a little guidance on this.

AFAIK, inbuilt ASP.NET login control have this option. If you are going for a manual implementation, use cookies for this. You can keep the user id in the cookie after encrypting, as saving password in the cookie is not secure. Each time check the session exist, if not check cookie existence. Read the user id from cookie and create a session for that user.
I implemented the same in our project by checking this in a base class where all my pages are derived. I have overridden OnInit and checked the cookie value there. Base class approach can avoid putting the cookie loading code in all the pages and it makes the maintenance easy.

yea that look quite helpful. actually I'm using the login control but I'm handling the cookies manually. I didnt know it can do it automatically.

you mean all your pages were derived from one of your own class. I think thats a gr8 idea but now I've already made lots of forms. So did that parent class derived from the System.Web.UI.Page class? and then u derived all the other forms from that class u made ur self?

Yes exactly. This architecture gives easy way to group common functionalities like session checking to be written in single place. This method makes adding new features like this makes very easy.
You can create many base page classes. Assume in your website you have some pages that require authentication. Instead of checking session in page_load of all pages, create a class something named "AuthenticatedPage" where you do this session checking. Derive all your pages which require session check from this page. You are done and no need to add the code manually to all page_load. This gives high flexibility for maintenance.

Hello genious...
I have one folder on sever say Projects
in which there are other 3 sub folders say small,nedium and large...
and in this 3 folders there are some files are stored..
if i want to download only one folder means projects so that all its others folders along with files can be download directly.
Is it possible that i only zip/compress Projects folder only, on server...? So all we need to create projects.zip.
Once this project folder is created say Projects.zip ,i will download it easily...
Any Sugestions will be appreciated...

C#, VB J# whatever language you choose, uses the same base classes and also you can use a class library with is developed in J# in your C#/VB application without any problem.

Looks like you will be binding the listbox in page_load without checking IsPostBack value. Hard to tell much as you have not given any details about what you are doing.

I am developing asp.net 2.0 web application in few pages i used crystal reports 10 which was installed with visual studio 2005. when i am deploying the application in the server where framework 2.0 is installed the website doesn't work. do have include any supported files to run crystal reports. what steps to be taken

Use the render method, add the controls you need to display to the panel. It will be shown next time when you use the custom control.

I have known render method, but it just show up Htmp element , i can't get value of that html element in my webcontrol when i want to do something.
I want to add dynamic Asp control in my webcontrol, because GUI of my webcontrol depend on database.
Ex: Dynamic Add two TextBox and a Button in Page_Load of my WebControl and add Click event for this button, I will get Text of two those TextBox when this button click.
Thus as, How to show up all dynamic control when I use my WebControl in another page

In your there is no any 'm', then why come this type of error?
U must missing something else.
for inserting a string u must quoted the string but for number must not quoted the number.
for example : (sname is varchar2, Roll is number)
String strQuery = "insert into table1 (sname, Roll) values ('" + txtName.text + "'," + txtRoll.text + ")";
I think u r missing any quotation. (single quote ')
