i was wondering about the possibilities to show a web form as a pop up form (just for selection eg searching) and possibly get the ID of the selection when the user selects an item eg after search result
Anyone ever tryed?

use window.open('mywindow','',formname.aspx,height=400,width=400)

however I think I needed to provide bit more details in the first place ...
ok, I have a page which is using a master page file. I want to click a button and then show another page eg 'popupform.aspx'.
Can i call the code you provided from the code behinde of my original form? I kept it in the html portion as below:

But it raises the error of: "Error 1 'ShowWindow' is not a member of 'ASP.getpostpage_aspx'."
it looks like it down't like that javascript part.
any ideas?
PS: I kept onclcik inside double quites becuase it was not allowed in the message

on Page_Load:

That way is used for server control. However, you just add an HTML control is OK.

This one worked however the size is not working so it still shows the form as full screen but the max button is disabled.

When I send Email using:
SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "...";
SmtpMail.Send("webmaster@....", "gyokusei@inbox.com", "This is a test!", "Testing...... Thanks!");
It works fine but the mail message (.EML file) isn't delivered. It stores in Queue folder.
I configured the IIS well as MSDN showed. And I can use Outlook 2003 to send an email to webmail(inbox.com) with my IP address.
Can you help me solve this problem?

I want to make sure that all access to the Web Application is done thru the Secure URL. Is there a way to check this at the login page. I see that IIS has some settings to require secure communication but this is hosted and we have no control over this. Or do we need to ask the host to set this property in IIS.

Hi there
You don't tell us much 
Is it a webserver we are talking about? In that case, unless the serveradministrator has allowed the "browse folders" function - then you won't be able to.
If it's a webserver you are administering yourself, then there are a couple of ways to do this. Let us know a bit more.

Hi all..
I need to make an internet application and it is a bidding scenario where:
1) A client would pass the request and wait for the response from multiple bidders connected online.
2) The biders would bid on the request at real time.
3) All the bidding responses are then showed on to the clients screen..
Hope u got the scenario.
Now the problem is, how do i get the client and bidders to communicate in real time via web browser?
There might be many bidders which would delay in response.so the clients page should refresh as and when responses come.It is something like a stock market page where the share values go up and down every minute..The web server decided is IIS6 ..Please help..

You can't push an update from the server to the browser, the http protocol just doesn't work that way. You have to check for updates periodically.

exactly..the client will have to refresh the page periodically..r u hinting at storing ol the client requests in a database and the bidders accessing frm there?but wouldnt the database become very large eventually..can anyone refer me a messenger program example..

But when client select first time it is printing. When he selects 2nd time it is not eracing the privious data

Can someone tell me how I can use specific values of a gridview row that are present after I click EDIT button on the Gridview and use these values as parameters for an ObjectDataSource. I want to be able to call the update method through the objetdatasource and send it values from the gridview that I have entered after clicking the edit button of the gridview. Hi there,
You can read the tutorial in MSDN to see how to use the ObjectDataSource[^]. Basically, there are two ways to pass input values from the input controls to the Update method:
+ You can list the parameters in the update method.
+ You can wrap the parameters in a custom object whose type should be specified in the DataObjectTypeName[^] property of the ObjectDataSource control.
Also, you can use the Updating event of the ObjectDataSource control to manually collect the values from the input controls and pass to the update parameters.
