I totally and absolutely agree Jsop.

Probably should leave it at that, but...

1.
Gee when I started there wasn't a google. In fact there wasn't an internet.
It was all heavily thumbed and dog eared second hand text books that we bought.
Sometimes a new book if we could afford it.
Guess we could have written a snail mail letter to the author saying URGENT SEND CODE MAYDAY MAYDAY.

2.
Using Google is a skill set every developer should have. Well everyone should have really.
Lets imagine that your QA questioner has actually tried to look up an answer to their issue using their proffered search engine.
"Plz send teh codez" isn't going to give them the correct answer that they are looking for.
Just the order of the search words and the insertion of a special one will usually give you the results that you want.
Usually quite quickly as well.
It is a learnt skill and something to take pride of in its application.

3.
My pet peeve is that many sites do not have any reference to the date of publication.
So you end up with deprecated stuff or something way off the mark and in some other language.

4.
My favourite thing is what you learn when doing it.
The real trick is to focus and not get side tracked.
You get convoluted elephant code methods and then find alternative stuff.
Rapidly or eventually you always find it like you said.
Sometimes I have system.copied.pasted.adjusted and felt guilty.
Just comment the source and move on.
Sometimes I find stuff that I should have remembered as I have done it before.
Sometimes you just see more elegant ways to do things after seeing different methods.

5.
I have never asked any questions on CP or an any other similar site. Never really needed to because of Google.
Never asked another fellow dev a question either as they all work with completely different stuff than me.
Oh hang on I did ask another dev a question once and he said that he didn't know as the question related to code that was written by a tool.
I said, "well tell me the tools name", and he didn't find that funny.
I have certainly asked questions to suppliers of third party libs though.
Sort of felt that if I have paid for something then expect support, if no easy search solves a problem.
Also some of there FAQs and forums are not very searchable, which pisses me off.
Also discovered bugs for them so that is all good.

6.
Some think that when Hello world doesn't print that this is ABE stuff.
Or indeed ABEOD stuff.
You have invented a new buzz word. ABE or Absolute Bleeding Edge.
ABEOD is my Favourite though.
