Now there's an idea. If we determine the country of origin of every business in the world, what would the world map look like?

Hi All,
Well today sucked, an Interview for a job I wasn't that keen on & a job I was keen on and I didn't get it (had the interview yesterday) a phone interview for a job in Devon... and not hover board, that cool fusion recycling thing we were promised WTF? mind you the whole flying car thing is pretty stupid (I dislike driving on wheels, help me if I could fly the thing!) I am now off to IMDB for movies that might be more accurate time wise, what was it in the 80's with flying cars Back To The Futre, Blade Runner and others...
Today sucked as I have just found out about Henry The Elephant, ooh man, the old hands are going Darlek Dave et al!

I think most of us knew he had passed away - but I think this makes it official[^].
In my opinion the funniest poster we've ever had on here.

I didn't know - and I wish I had.
A true gentleman: He has been missed even before we knew he was no more.
Rest well, and my condolences to all who knew him in person.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Wow, I didn't know!
Henry was actually the first person I met on CodeProject...
He answered my question[^] and helped me a great deal.
That was a few years ago.
Sad to hear about this
RIP Henry and thanks for the help!

The guy had a great sense of humour.

Too bad, I hadn't seen him here in a while. I quite liked his posts.
RIP

What ? How would we know ?
This is really sad. When did that happen ?
Adieu, Henry !

OK knew is probably the wrong word, "Suspected" is a better one. I remember a few months before he became inactive here, his Brother used his account to tell us he was in Hospital. There was also a thread awhile back noting his inactivity on other sites.

In what way?
I can stop it being reported and closed, but I should probably also add a "This device has powered down" badge to the profiles of those who have moved on to a better operating system.
cheers

Should people still be able to post messages on his page, for example? You can make that read-only.
The final badge would be a nice way to remember those who came and went.

Just clicked through to some of his later posts, then carried on browsing the Lounge from them for a few pages.
We were all much funnier even just three years ago than we are now.

Totally agree with you there, and we were all better looking 3 years ago, except for Nagy whose always been a Minger. **
** Disclaimer - my response would have been much funnier if you were here 3 years ago.

Just did the same (looked back on his old posts and the threads around them), and I agree with you even more. Think the reason is that we were a lot more diverse back then and a lot of regular posters who have now disappeared or seldom post (DD, viaducting, Mark Wallace, JSOP, Wizardzz, _Damien_) to name but a few. There was just a lot more people to bounce off in those days, so one follow post would be answered with a funnier response, which in turn would be answered by an even funnier post. But now The Aussies and Yanks have all but disappeared and there are just a few Brits left which seem to dominate, but it means the type of humour/interest is very narrow.
What I notice after returning from my regular Hiatuses is that I normally discover someone 'new' that I was aware of before but didn't fully appreciate how funny their posts were. I think you was the first one, years back, and more recently Mehgerbil. What I notice everytime I come back is there are less people wanting to have a laugh and more and more 'Traffic Wardens', for example posting "qwe qweew qwe..." [^] is now a ban-able offence.
