Occasionally one hears the presenter-du-jour on the home service 'Crash the Pips[^]' and it causes me great distress.

A disappointingly mundane explanation, I'd much prefer if it had been some coded message to a deeply embedded super agent working to protect us against an evil criminal mastermind (hollowed-out volcano optional).
