Hi,
Just need a rant, this week has been a pita generally, today worse than usual.
1) Walked out the front door into horizontal rain. I'm a Brit so I carry a brolly carrying two bags today as it's Friday so couldn't hold it up, Coat not properly water proof. So I got very damp walking to the bus stop.
2) Got to bus stop, went for phone to check email. Phone not in pocket, commence swearing, walk back to flat, bid to find phone, find phone after 5 minutes search.
3) Get drenched again going to bus stop.
4) Get to work a bit later than normal, Coffee machine is being descaled so no Coffee, look for Tea no Tea! 
5)Find last nights thunder storm upset a test that has been running all week.
6)Have to restart test, get lost in Aglients "friendly" user interface.
7)Forget lunch.
8)Loose all hope and pray for a quiet weekend (some hope!)

UPDATE: it get worse now the phone (S3) won't update Chrome, HELP roll on 5:30pm

The only Public House that is walking distance closed for the winter last weekend, last Friday the entire firm went there and ensured there would be very little left!

Well...there is a new series of "Have I got news for you" starting tonight, so that might cheer you up a little. And QI.
Plus, it's Poets Day, so that should help.
And if it doesn't - go out an buy a waterproof coat! 
The only instant messaging I do involves my middle finger.

The worst thing was that it "was" waterproof until a slight accident while "merry" got washed isn't now, new coats a comin'!

there was however some instant decaf coffee, and some Earl Grey tea(?)bought for an American visitor with a Star Trek Next Generation fixation, thankfully it looks as if there is coffee now, back to fight the magic Aglient (HP) user interface

As strange as it sounds I do live near a dirty great development that is being built or (dug into) the plot next to me so there are lots of big yellow dirty things, I thought this was a Friday, but could be Wednesday...never could get the hang of them!

Mutter, Mutter, I have been here past closing all this week to get on with the tests that were (KSS Filter on) "mucked up" by the thunder storm still can't get the elephanting Agilent thing to work properly! My hours are 9am-5:30pm this week it has 08:00 til I can't do anything else around 8:30pm the guy opposite left at 2:00 am (he's dedicated!  )

Now, now be nice, he beat my record by 2 hours, is it just me or is it this job (programming, engineering in general) give problems that you just can't leave until its fixed or you know how to fix!

Yeah! I hate that I end up working late into the night sometimes because I just can't leave until I have figured out what is wrong - especially when it is my code I am looking at. On a couple of occasions I have finally given up and headed home (usually because my wife has called to find out where I am) only to find the problem within minutes of arriving at work the following day. Burn out is real!
