Are you serious or...??

As I know , we can use Notepad for editing it.
I thought it's a special name of a program.
Thanks anyway

You can directly edit your harddisk with notepad..? How?

No. I've not yet.
Have you try them, these have worked ?

I tried it.
It didn't work

I'll assume the folder path is c:\Recycler1
Open the parent folder in explorer. Right click Recycler1 and select properties. Select the Security tab.
Click Advanced and select the Owner tab. Select yourself as the owner, tick the checkbox for "Replace owner on subcontainers and object" and click "Ok" twice.
Open a command prompt.
Run ATTRIB -R -A -S -H C:\Recycler1 /S /D
try to delete: DEL C:\Recycler1 /S
If it's still not deletable you're probably having a file/folder with a filename that ends with a dot or a space or the file is being accessed by a program. But try this first.

I've had WinXp SP2 so I've not seen any Security tab or Owner tab

Is it Xp Home or Professional?
If you click on a file with the right mouse button and select properties from the context menu, which tabs do you have in the properties window that opens?
To see and unhide the Security tab:
Launch Windows Explorer.
Click on the Tools at the menu bar, then click on Folder Options.
Click on View tab.
In the Advanced Settings section at the bottom of the list, uncheck and unselect (clear the tick) on the “Use simple file sharing (Recommended)” check box.
Click OK.
BTW, if you use "Alt" + "Print Scrn" you copy only the active window to the Clipboard.

Thanks Jörgen , I'll try it

Wow, thank you very much Jörgen.
That worked.
You're an expert
And thank you, for the feedback!

I've had another question please ?
Jörgen Andersson wrote: Run ATTRIB -R -A -S -H C:\Recycler1 /S /D
What's this command ? and what's this doing ?
ATTRIB is changing the attributes of the file or directory.
-R takes away readonly
-A takes away archive (removing this one was quite pointless actually it's for backup programs to know which files are changed)
-S removes the system attribute which is protecting you from altering system files by mistake
-H makes the files not hidden anymore, you can't remove what you can't see
/S makes the command valid also for files in subfolders
/D makes the command valid also for the directories

Thanks for the spelling mistake, other then that, where would that selection be stored?

If you mean the location settings, you can find it under:
HKCU\Control Panel\International for the current user
The default user has:
HKU\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\International
If you have a multilangage version of windows you'll find which languages you have installed at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\MUILanguages
The following value always reflects the current LangID parameter:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
MultiUILanguageId: REG_SZ = [langID]

It is good to see that CodeProject is well tied to windows development. I had enuff with Linux idiots.
Let me ask you a straight question to all the Linux.com users. Is linux good enuff?
First i hear that it is free software. We kno that enything free sucks. My office has free coffee which sucks. So Linux does suck. The software / installation / maintainance all sucks.
But windows xp / vista is very stable and secure. They have frequent releases of service packs and vital security updates. All because u pay for it. So i advice all Linux users to stop believing in free and buy Windows / MAC OS X. Let me know ur views on it

You couldn't be more wrong. XP and Vista are LESS stable; Linux has an advantage their because it is developed by a community of programmers who create it for a community. Linux is commonly regarded as more stable, but less "user-friendly" which is changing per each release.
And if Windows has more "service packs" and "vital security updates" isn't that due to the existence of so many security holes? Personally, I'm more comfortable with the OS that doesn't need to have a monthly day for updates.

I have been a windows admin for 12 years and a linux admin for 5 to 6. Software installation and maintenance is significantly simpler on linux than windows. I run a simple script from a putty window on my XP desktop that updates a dozen linux machines with no further user interaction after the password prompt. And this is all the software on the machine (> 400 applications / packages) not just the operating system. I do not believe windows will ever have this ability.
