It always is.
The error is basically telling you everything - you are accessing a function or variable of an object that does not exist. Locate the line in the code and you've nearly solved the problem. If you can't locate the line then try using FireFox and FireBug and see what they say.

Actually i'm not calling any javascript functions. I tried to keep the first line of the code response.contentype="application/pdf" only, then also its throwing error. So basically i think Plumtree is not supporting this line and the inbulit javascripts is blocking.Can any one explain the exact reason for this.

I have to use HTM form instead of ASP script, there is an input
<br />
<% If VerifyPending = true Then %><br />
<input type="text" name="from_date" value="<%= FormatDate(Date, 4) %>"><br />
<% Else %><br />
<input type="text" name="from_date" value="<%= FormatDate(Date+1, 4) %>"> <br />
<% End If %><br />
</input></input>
In my HTM it does not accept <% to insert VB script
1. Do I need include some thing to make the HTM accept the above VB script?
2. If not how can I convert into HTM form?
Note: VerifyPending is VB script only use to return TRUE or FALSE, FormatDate is a VB script to return a new Date
Thank to any help

Hello,
I am writing an ActiveX control. This control will connect to the remote server then do further processes.
In order to the flexibility, I want to use JavaScript to get the address bar value.
And use this address and pass it into the ActiveX control item in order to connect to the remote server.
Now I know location.hostname can get the hostname of the URL. But if I passed it into the ActiveX, it failed.
I set the breakpoint in the function which is called by JavaScript and checked the argument. But the argument value is bad ptr...
I don't know how to fix it. Do I set the wrong type of argument ? Or JavaScript can't do this feature...(I am a newbie of JavaScript)
Can anybody can help me ?
My Environment : Vista SP1 + VS2005 SP1 + IE7
The JavaScript code is
function OnLogin()
{
var hostname = location.hostname;
document.ActiveXClient1.OnLogin(hostname);
}
The corresponding ActiveX code is
BEGIN_DISPATCH_MAP(CActiveXClientCtrl, COleControl)
DISP_FUNCTION_ID(CActiveXClientCtrl, "OnLogin", DISPID_CV_LOGIN, OnLogin, VT_EMPTY, VTS_BSTR)
END_DISPATCH_MAP()
void CActiveXClientCtrl::OnLogin(LPCSTR ip)
{
}
Thanks.

Problem is solved.
It works when the argument use location.hostname directly.
Don't need to assign value to other variable first.
The JavaScript code which can run on my pc is
function OnLogin()
{
document.ActiveXClient1.OnLogin(location.hostname);
}

Kinda hard to say, since you didn't bother to actually post the code that's broken. My guess is, you're failing to HTML escape your text.
---- You're right.
These facts that you've laid out totally contradict the wild ramblings that I pulled off the back of cornflakes packets .

I would like to use a event fired on a usercontrol on the page it is nested in
Like for instance say the usercontrol has a button on it, when the button gets clicked the event fired should be able to change a textbox nested in the page and not in the user control itself ?
Any examples or pointing in the reight direction will be greatly appricated

Ok here is the solution on the ascx file the code should look like
public event EventHandler ButtClick;
protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
ButtClick(sender, e);
}
This will register a onButtCLick Event that can be wired up in the host page

After the Search button click I should give results of the string in a data grid.But I had doubt in SQL Query. Here I am using Full text engine in SQL 2005. FREETEXTABLE QUERY: Select * From jobposting as posting Innerjoin Freetextable (jobposting,*,'"*I*" | "*want*" | "*job*" | "*in*" | "*.net*" | "*vb*" | "*company*" | "*is*" | "*microsoft*" ') as frees ON trees. [Key]=posting. [ID] order by Rank Desc
CONTAINSTABLE QUERY:
Select * From jobposting as posting Innerjoin Containstable (jobposting,*,'"*I*" | "*want*" | "*job*" | "*in*" | "*.net*" | "*vb*" | "*company*" | "*is*" | "*microsoft*" ') as frees ON trees. [Key]=posting. [ID] order by Rank Desc Suggest me the appropriate query for my search,

Hello,
I had doubt about multithreading concept in asp.net. I saw the examples in vb.net and asp.net, in this examples I found the use of threading is main thread runs in front end while other thread works in back end. I need to work it out in a web application in visual basic (vb).
Please give brief details about this concept and example, such as the importance of threading and how to use.
Thanking You,
Phani.

This is the wrong forum for this question.
It is also too general. You must do your own research. People here are happy to help with specific queries, but no-one is going to write you a treatise on the concepts (with example, if you please) of multi-threaded applications.

Friends pls help me to undertand the causes for IIS hang
|
|
|
|
|
Are you running .net 2.0 on your server ?
if so whenever you change the home page in the documents tab of IIS it messes up the service, thus shutting down all your sites, some kind of bug we experienced aswel , just go to your administrative tools and services and restart your "World Wide Web Publishing"(right at the bottom of list) Service.
This will fix up the stalling problem

I am using Inoa Orbix (BOA) with C++, trying to retrive / search records from the server, some times it hangs, and IIS shoud restarted
|
|
|
|
|
wont be able to help you with that dont know C++ and Orbix that well but usually the most common cause for hanging would be a loop that retrieves incredible amounts of records in a single request, (check the max request length of the web.config) or try paging your data , or sandboxing a ligter version of the code that just returns one row.
But all in there can be numerous reasons for iis hanging.

Hi Guys,
Is there a solution on how to convert TimeStamp to DateTime?
Thanks
hifiger2004
|
|
|
|
|
Why isn't this in the SQL/database forum?
To quote from SQL Server Books Online:
"The SQL Server timestamp data type has nothing to do with times or dates. SQL Server timestamps are binary numbers that indicate the relative sequence in which data modifications took place in a database. The timestamp data type was originally implemented to support the SQL Server recovery algorithms.
Never use timestamp columns in keys, especially primary keys, because the timestamp value changes every time the row is modified."
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, I actually read the mssql help file and it says that its the same as the rowversion. Microsoft shouldn't named it to timestamp. It could be something like "rowstampid" or something. Because in Oracle the timestamp can be converted to datetime.
Anyway, thanks for the answer.
