Port like FILE;(Print to File) using existing HP print postscript driver.
There isn't actual physical printer.
Thanks.

If you've installed the driver for your virtual printer correctly, there should be no difference to printing on a physical printer.

You are right, but I can's save to the specific location for all the files at once. Everytime the document prints, I got Message Prompted asking me where do I want to save the output file.
Here what I did when I add new Printer.
1) Add Printer
2) Click Next
3) Select Local printer attached to this computer
4) Click Next
5) Print To File Port
7) Select Printer Driver like HP Laser Jet 5Si PS
When I print test page, the printer ask me where I would like to save every time I print.
I would I tell the driver to save all the printed pages to specific location with user defined name??
From what I userstanding, port is the one who saving all the printed data into specific location? If I'm wrong, please correct me.
Thanks.

Hello All,
I am having issues trying to convert XML to HTML using C#. I have done this before using simple style sheets and simple xml documents.
I now have to do this on a larger scale.
The current issue is that I get an XsltException stating 'matches()' is an unknown XSLT function. This exception is thrown on the xslCompiledTransform.transfrom call.
Is this a standard function? If so how do I use it?
If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.
My code snippet.
String outputFile = outputFileTextBox.Text;
XmlUrlResolver resolver = new XmlUrlResolver();
XslCompiledTransform tran = new XslCompiledTransform(true);
tran.Load(new XPathDocument(xsltFileTextBox.Text), XsltSettings.Default, resolver);
tran.Transform(xmlInTextBox.Text, outputFile);
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Looks like a problem in the XSLT. Do you refer to matches() in there?
|
|
|
|
|
The call to matches() is in the xslt
<xsl:when test="matches(//geia:JA_transportation_data/geia:transportation_indicator, 'S')">
Is this function standard in xslt or do I have to import something to use it. If so how?
Thanks,

It works with other tools used for transformation like XMLSPY. I need to find a solution with out a third party tool.

"Unknown XSLT function" sounds like something in your XSLT, not your C#.

Hy
Can anybody tell me about an CVS alternative integrate with .NET VS 2005 and free.
thx

I hear good things about SubVersion. And there's a cheap commercial product Visual SVN that does Studio 2003 & 2005 integration. I haven't used it yet, but I hear nothing but good things about it.

Subversion is great.
Haven't tried the Visual SVN though.
But it supports checking in/out, reverting, branching, revision history etc etc.
But I never felt like I needed it integrated in VS .NET anyhow.

If you're interested in SVN...
SVN[^]
Tortoise SVN[^] integrates it with Windows Explorer.
Visual SVN[^] for Studio integration. It may have a standalone GUI too, I don't know for sure.

AnkhSVN plugs into Visual Studio. Its a little buggy, but its free.

Hi,
CVS SCC proxy is a SCC API plug-in which provides access from all Microsoft SCC enabled software to general CVS repositories. The Microsoft SCC API is supported by: MS VC 5.0-7.0, MS VB 5.0-7.0, MS .NET, MS FrontPage, MS DEV and other Microsoft development tools.
You can use the PUSHOK's CVS SCC proxy, configure it and developers can access CVS right from the Microsoft IDEs like SQL Server 2005 Management Studio, Visual Studio 2005, etc. Mail me for a detailed document, which I have compiled for the procedure.

I wrote an application to run on a smart device with win ce 5.0. I've now been asked to make the application work on win ce 4.2. I already know at least one of the libraries I use is not available for 4.2 devices. I'm looking for suggestions on how to accomplish this back port without messing up my 5.0 development environment. Has anyone done this? Any thoughts?

Build most of your code in Classes that be used in any enviroment. You can also use Design PAterrns to workout you enviroment then use the correct libraries.

makes me think your in for more work than what it's worth.
Just a thought...

i agree that it's likely more work than it's worth..especially since i have 200 5.0 devices and 5 or 7 4.2 devices. I'm trying to build a case against doing this work. For that I need to know what i'm up against, in terms of effort and the expected life of the older devices.
As for developing with classes that run with any version, that's great advice after the fact. Even then, I specifically chose the newer class because the hardware manufacturer was discontinuing support on the older class.
I think my best bet, if I'm required to move forward with ths project, is to get a seperate development pc and recreate the old environment, probably with evc4, and go from there.
thanks anyway, y'all.

Best bet. Using MS's or VMWare's Virtual PC would probably be a good idea to put the dev environment under.

Best case against doing it, right there. The hardware is probably going to last another year, at best, before they want upgraded stuff.

I am aware of how to close a form. But, in a project I have been working on, the from cannot be created regularly. My Program.Cs looks like this:
static void Main()<br />
{<br />
Application.EnableVisualStyles();<br />
Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false);<br />
CreateForm(true);<br />
Application.Run();<br />
}<br />
<br />
public static void CreateForm(bool blIsClosing)<br />
{<br />
frmMain frmFace = new frmMain();<br />
<br />
if (blIsClosing == true)<br />
{<br />
frmFace.Close()<br />
}<br />
}
So, my question is, from the form that I have created, how can I close it. I can call theFrm.Close(), and the form will dissapear, as well as my tray icon. But, the program is still running(as in Visual Studio still sees the form as running) How Can I close the form, and actually kill the process from the form that I have created?
I get all the news I need from the weather report - Paul Simon (from "The Only Living Boy in New York")

Use
Application.Run(new frmMain());
instead of a CreateForm method. Handle the Load event of your form to perform some start-up procedures.
