What are you asking?
Of course the words appear in the same page, you wouldn't be able to see them otherwise.
Please be a little more specific, we are here to help, but we cannot read minds.

When you look at the source code, the HTML is there for you to see. As is any references to javascript. Look for that textbox and see where the code employed takes you. Then ask again where you get stuck. But don't forget to include an example of code where you are stumped (note NOT all the code - just the relevant bits which stumps you).

Here is a very simple example ...
<script>
func=function (arg){
d = document.getElementById("div1")
d.innerHTML = arg.value
}
</script>
<body>
<div id="div1"></div>
<input type="textbox" onkeyup="func(this)">
</body>
Hope it helps.

You would have to monitor the text boxes' onKeyUp event. For every invoke of the event you would copy the content of the respective text box and represent in the respective area.
Example:
function copy(x,y)
{
var text=document.getElementById(x).value;
document.getElementById(y).innerText = text;
}
The above should be placed in a script tag preferably within your head tag. Then add the following code to the respective textboxes:
<input type="text" name="txt1" id="txt1" value="" onKeyUp="copy(this.id, 'destination_id');" />

At first i made the webpage in MS FrontPage 2003 and kept the font Calibri for the whole site. That used to appear on the web on every PC which had this font. But the PCs lacking this font would not display the text in Calibri but to any default settings text.
Whats the solution to it?
Secondly now I am making a site on Dreamweaver CS3 using CSS. I have set the font calibri in the style sheet and it is appearing to me when i view the site in my browser but when i upload the site on the web the desired font doesn't appears? Any Solutions?

You can equally import the font using CSS. Which means you have to upload the font itself to the site. In your css you can do this:
@font-face {
src:url("path/to/font.ttf");
fontFamily: YourFontFamily;
}
selector {
fontFamily: YourFontFamily;
}
|
|
|
|
|
I have this stuff in my "FontStyleSheet.css" but stilll the font is not Calibri on the site. I have the .ttf file in the root folder as mentioned here.
//
@charset "utf-8";
.FontStyleSheet {
font-family: Calibri;
font-size: 12px;
}
@fontface
{
font-family:Calibri
src: url("C:/Users/Raza/Desktop/IEEE test/Calibri.ttf")
}
selector
{
font-family:Calibri
}
//
|
|
|
|
|
First off, Lets me understand your stylesheet.
.FontStyleSheet is the class of the tag you want to give a font of Calibri. If this is so then your css should look like this:
@charset "utf-8";
@fontface{
font-family:Calibri;
src: url("Calibri.ttf");
}
.FontStyleSheet {
font-family: Calibri;
font-size: 12px;
}
Note that the Calibri.ttf file should be in the same location as the FontStyleSheet.css file
|
|
|
|
|
The url() in your @fontface{} -block should be the path to the ttf-file on the web server, not on your local PC.
Have a look on this site http://randsco.com/index.php/2009/07/04/p680[^] for a brief description of site embedded fonts.

using flash you can display any font. it is SEO Friendly.
It is just like other elements... you include the flash object and set a text... that is all... it works. and the text is selectable like other normal texts.

Hi all,
I have a .CGI web page written in PERL language. The CGI script loads the information from a database.
So when i start the CGI page in my browser and it will only have a value in the whole page.
As in when the whole page started in the browser will have only a few characters.
Let say it retrieve Temperature recorded and which is stored in the database.
So the whole page when loaded will only show 1 temperature.
Which is "36.6" and will change when ever the database receive a newer data.
In additional, i have a html page.
There are tables in the page whereby show information. Like tables having temperature, id, sound and light columns.
My Question is that
Am i able to load the numbers/characters show on the CGI page directly into the table or any where in the HTML page?
What i can think of is putting up a link to the CGI page on the HTML file and click it when i want to view it.But it would just be too troublesome.
Lastly, thank you all for your time in reading and please pardon me for my bad English and weak HTML skills as I'm still learning.
Thanks & best regards
Joseph

The simplest way would be to use an iframe to display the CGI page within the html document. This would be like a window displaying the cgi content on the html page.
If you're up to bit a Javascript you could look into using XmlHttpRequest and parsing the values from the CGI page and injecting them into the html page output. This is more tricky, will rely on JS being enabled and need the CGI page and html page to be on the same domain - but it will allow you to have a more integrated appearance.

The Importance of AJAX
To understand the benefits of AJAX, consider a
renovation scenario. You’ve decided you want
a stained glass window beside the front door.
The renovator removes the existing plain glass
and window frame, takes it to the shop for
replacement with the stained glass, and returns
to reinstall it. He obviously has no need to
touch the other windows or — to be completely
ridiculous — tear down the house and replace
everything in the process.
The same concept applies to a Web page. If you
just want to change the content in one area of the
page, you don’t need to wipe out the existing page
and ask the server to resend all the images and
HTML markup. AJAX works like the renovator,
doing just what’s required but not more.

I have a Navigation Div...
<div class="navigation">
<a href="index.htm" class="mouseover">Home</a>
<a href="gallery.htm" class="mouseover">Gallery</a>
<a href="contact.htm" class="mouseover">Contact Us</a>
<a href="siteplans.htm" class="mouseover">Site Plans</a>
<a href="sitemap.htm" class="mouseover">Site Map</a>
<a href="cardington.htm" class="mouseover">Cardington</a>
<a href="r101.htm" class="mouseover">The R101</a>
</div>
This, functionally, does what I want, but I would like the elements to be spaced out evenly accross the Div.
Is there either a style command for this, or is there a way of putting spaces between the elements?
Thanks.

Suggestion Dave ...
If the menu, or other content, you want looks similar to an existing website, use Firefox with Firebug add-on. Then using Firebug you can establish exactly what the designers of the webpage were doing. Then do what a lot of programmers do, and "borrow" the code as a snippet, then modify it until your needs at satisfied.
So take the CP navigation on the green bar above, you can see the HTML and the Styles used, as well as any Javascript employed.
And talking of Javascript, you had couple of questions recently, point your browser here http://yuiblog.com/crockford/[^] and enjoy the learning experience. Caution, some of the resources there are huge.

Hi,
Below is the issue I am facing in Java script.
I am using <TR> in that Tr i have 3 <Td>
in last <td> I am using anchor tag dome thing like below
<tr name =row>
<td/>
<td/>
<td>
<a type="aaa" onclick="UpdateName" > test </a>
I am assigning dynamically all the attributes of anchor tag like below
var cells= row.cells;
var link = cells(2).all.tags("A")(0);
link.file= "123";
link.href = "javascript:VoidReturn("nothing to return");
link.onclik=function() { updateName(name);}
function Update(name)
{
username=name;
}
This is working fine if i am using link onclick attribute as above ...function() { updateName(name);}
but if i am just giving it as string, it is not invoking,
like below.
link.onclick=updateName('abc');
Please let me know how i can set onclick of anchor attribute without function object.
Thanks,
Salmon

salmonraju wrote: link.onclik=function() { updateName(name);}
OK the above assigns the Function to the onclick .
Now this next part assigns the results of
updateName('abc') (which is a function call)
to the onclick , you don't want that.
salmonraju wrote: link.onclick=updateName('abc');
I can't do anything with the code you presented so
I will give this simple example ...
<table>
<tr name="row">
<td>
<a name="a1">a1</a>
<td/>
<td>
<a name="a2">a2</a>
<td/>
</tr>
</table>
<script>
as = document.getElementsByTagName("A")
as[0].href = '#';
as[0].innerHTML = "HIYAS";
as[0].onclick = Update;
as[0].aname = "Davey"
as[1].href = '#';
as[1].innerHTML = "Whassup";
as[1].onclick = Update;
as[1].aname = "JONES"
function Update()
{
alert(this.aname);
}
</script>
Try that out and see if it works for you.
