Thank you Shog9.
I used :
var table = window.document.getElementById('MDS_Table').getElementsByTagName('TD');
for (i=0; i < table.length; i++)
table[i].style.backgroundColor = '#af3830';

Hello
I am very new to all of this so I'm expecting to be made fun of if this is very obvious.
I am using a script to show a basic flash video on one of my pages. I would like to add a few other videos in the same place, with only one of them playing any time the page is viewed or refreshed.
I am using a GoDaddy page designer and the video is hosted at a different site that simply provides me with an "embed code" to paste in my page editor. I am hoping for a simple code that will allow me to plug in a few different "embed codes" from my videos and solve my problem.
I'm sure there is a simple code that will randomly select only one of the flash files to be displayed.
I would imagine this could apply to something like images, backgrounds, or any other type of file.
Can someone provide me with a code that accomplishes this?
Thanks

Thanks Richard
This is where I am completely out of my element. It looks like you may be right in that SWFObjects could solve my problem, however I have no idea as to where to start to create one.
I should have been more specific about how ingrorant I am to all of this. I am using a GoDaddy page designer and the video is hosted at a different site that simply provides me with an "embed code" to paste in my page editor.

Hi
I am trying to use client-side JavaScript to copy a local file across to the web server. What is the best way to build up the target string? If I hard code to path it works fine, but if I build up a string dynamically I get a "Bad file name" error using FSO CopyFile method.
Thanks, Ken.

Any spaces in the path? Try putting it in double quotes eg.
"c:\program files\myfile.txt"

Well sorry to waste your time. Ive since been advised that trying to use client-side FSO through ActiveX raises all kinds or security issues. As its a dot net web app, I'll have to revert to using a asp control to upload the file then do a postback behind code.
Cheers.

True enough, but I assumed you would take that into account. Anyway, no problem.

Hi
Im trying to show a PDF as the response of asn aspx. For this is i'm doing the following.
" Response.ContentType = "application/pdf";
Response.Buffer = true;
Response.Clear();
Response.OutputStream.Write(ms.GetBuffer(), 0, ms.GetBuffer().Length);
Response.OutputStream.Flush();
Response.End();
"
But the page is coming as a plain text as "%pdf-1.4@#....". When i try to see the content-type for the response using HTTPWatch tool i could see that its coming as "text/html ; charset: UTF-8"
The same page when is loaded in an IFrame is rendered properly as a PDF. But Iframe is not acceptable as per the needs.
Please help me in this issue.
Thanks and Regards
KC

I have an ASP .net app and an additional server side project to perform some transforms via XSL.
In the additional server side project I just load an XSL template depending on some params and perform a transformation (the results are passed back to the ASP .net application).
I'm not quite sure what could be the best approach to store and access the XSL templates:
-> I could implement the XSL "choose" logic in the ASP .net application and have the XSL in a web folder (just pass it back as a param to the external assembly).
-> Another idea was to embedd the XSL templates into my servier side assembly, but not sure if this only will work on the "EXE" world and not on the web (or if I could have performance issues).
-> The last one that I had was to add it as a resource and mark the copy to output directory,but again I think that won't be situable for the web world.
What option will work better in my web app?
Regards
Braulio

Hello, I am somewhat new to web page development. I have a simple web page, in an Apache/Linux embedded environment. This web page has Form code with a textbox, and a button, of type="button". The button has a parameter OnClick="/www/apache/cgi-bin/myCode.cgi" which is a 'C' executable that performs low-level hardware coding of a temperature sensor, and places the temperature in a variable. Is there a way, either through javascript printf's in myCode.cgi, or through STDOUT, to send the temperature value to the web page, to be displayed in the textbox? I've spent many hours searching online for coding help and examples to similar problems, but can't quite find what I need to do. In simple terms, I click the button, the 'C' code gets invoked, and wish to have the information displayed in the textbox. I am trying to avoid the use of cookies, because my file system on the embedded controller is in flash memory, and wish to avoid write operations as much as possible. Backing up a little bit, I am somewhat new to javacript also, but have used it in other parts of my web page.
I appologize if I'm in the incorrect forum. A little coaching and info will be appreciated. Thank you.

I figured out how to do this. I used a javascript routine (sessvars.js, google this for more info) in both the web page and the C executable. Also had to use SSI in the web page, and enable apache for SSI (Options +Includes, and this parameter, "XBitHack on"). Used this SSI line in the web page: to invoke the executable. I have a button that reloads the web page, the executable is run, and the textbox displays the value from the executable.

That's why. Test and tweak in FF, then make it work in IE. Going the other direction is... painful.

Just a quick question:
I ran across the following operator in one of our application's javascript functions: !==
Has anyone ever seen this before? I can't find any reference to this operator using Google, but the code doesn't throw any errors when it sees this operator.
I started wondering if this is the opposite operation for "===". Any information is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

It's the opposite, if you like, of the identity operator ==

Hi Guys,
Have you encountered problem in reporting services project deployment?
I am actually using visual studio 2005, mssql2005 express edition with advance services. I actually transferred the report manager and report server folder in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ and configured the IIS6.0 properly.
It's been 2 days already finding correct solutions from different forums but still not luck at all on how to fix it.
In visual studio 2005, in TargetUrl I placed http://localhost/reports$SQLExpress. And also, I configured the report server correctly but during deployment an error will display -
Error:
A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/reports$SQLExpress
Anybody has the fix?
Thanks

Hey all,
Think this is the best place to post this, correct me if i'm wrong...
I've been putting together some html emails for the company I work for and I cannot get them to render properly in Outlook 2007.
I have been through all the tutorials that I can find, have downloaded the validators for Dreamweaver, and visual studio 2005 and they all say that what I'm doing is just fine.
However, I'm still getting horizontal spaces between some images.
The layout is being generated by fireworks and so is completely table based. I have checked all of the widths, and added these to individual cells to try an force them to be the same size as the images contained within...
I have checked that the right no. of columns is being created and I'm now at a loss.
Does anyone have a clue what else could be wrong? I have no background images etc and no positioning, my css is limited to font-family, td img {display:block}, background-color and font-size, so it shouldn't be that.
Thanks in advance, I know this can be a sore subject..

Check that there are no spaces after the closing > img tags, and that border="0" attrtibutes are added to them.
What happens whne you create a webpage using the same HTML? How does that display?

Hi,
I have removed all whitespace after imagetags etc and all the images have border="0" on them ( I also tried swapping that to css but with no effect)
When I view in a normal browser it renders just fine, ff3, opera, safari, ie7, ie8, chrome...
this is the encoding I'm using (again, tried changing this in the past but tp no effect):
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
fireworks has this horrible habit of creating an extra row and column filled with spacer.gif, which i have tried removing, but thanks to the complexity of rowspans/colspans, it always ends in tears.
I have another department designing the emails for me and I can't get them to build it from the ground up, I'm just at a bit of a loss now..
Also, don't know if it helps, some (not all) of the images are links, as with most html emails, these seem to be the ones mis-behaving for me. I'v run out of attributes to add / change that i can think of.
Thanks for the reply
Mark
