Check the Height Property. If the content of the control is bigger then the Height of that control then Internet Explorer will adjust the Height accordingly. but the FireFox and Opera are more Standard base Browser, so they will stricktly follows the CSS Specification, and they will not increase the Height of the control, even if the content overlaps. so either you just leave the Height Property Blank or Increase it so that the content will not overlap.

Hi all,
If i have a number formatted like this 15,000 using a regex or so and i need to read it in javascript using parsefloat iam getting the result of 15
maybe because it is considering the "," as decimal point. is there a way i can read 15,000 as integer or decimal of 15000 so i can get the exact results in my javascript.
thanks

If your controls are in Content Place Holder / Panel / Place Holder / Update Panel. Then you cannot directly access them. you have to use the FindControl Method[^]
Make sure that you are following the correct sequence.
i.e.
x = Page.FindControl("your update panel")
y = x.FindControl("your control in update panel");
or you can stack trace and use the direct pre defined name
i.e. ctl001ContentPlaceHolder.<your control>
Hope this will help...

hello,
I'm working on a web site using asp.net. I have to display dynamic froms .
the form will be discribed in an xml file , after that element of form described in the xml file will be converted to objects by XML serialisation and displayed with fonction controls.add(element). my pb that I don't know all possibilities offred by asp.net to fixe its layout.
what proprities can I add to my objects to fix its layout? and if it's possible how can I use it proprities?
at the moment I use a table to do that and colspan and leftcal . so I ask if there is other methode.
rq: I use vb not c#.
thanks for your help.

That is depended on how much flexibility you want. if you want complete dynamic layout, then whatever you are doing is fine. if the overall layout is fixed and just the controls are different, then you can statically add a table and put the PlaceHolders in each cell of the table, and then you can assign PlaceHolder1.Controls.Add() to fill out the layout.

|
|
|
thanks for your answer ,but I want that all be dynamic in my work. I dont want to fixe staticly a table. so can I do that differenty.
if there is a way, plz tell me how and what attributes shall I add to my objects to fixe its layout?
colum span et left col are suffisent?
In conclusion I want an idea that make a dynamic form (and I will not use a static object) from a description (vb class form ens<element> element can be label or radio button or text.....) I will loop if there is an element, so I want a solution that resolve pb of layout, I what to know what attributes to add to my element class and why (how to use it).
I know that my english is not good , so I wish I explain correctly the pb .
thanks for your answer.

I've templated out the field, and the combobox properly loads the value, but when the insert query runs unlike the various textbox parameters in other columns the user selection isn't passed to the query. Instead a null is. Is there something wrong with my asp, or do I need to write code elsewhere to explicitly get the value of out the combobox for the query?
<pre> <asp:templatefield headertext="BatteryTypeID" sortexpression="BatteryTypeID" xmlns:asp="#unknown">
<edititemtemplate>
<gary:extendeddropdownlist id="DropDownList1" runat="server" xmlns:gary="#unknown">
DataSourceID="dslist_BatteryType" DataTextField="BatteryTypeID" DataValueField="BatteryTypeID"
Text='<%# Bind("BatteryTypeID") %>'>
<asp:listitem text="None" value=""></asp:listitem>
</gary:extendeddropdownlist>
</edititemtemplate>
<itemtemplate>
<asp:label id="Label1" runat="server" text="<%# Bind("BatteryTypeID") %>"></asp:label>
</itemtemplate>
</asp:templatefield>
</pre>

but when I place the popupextenwer and other controls to the Web User Control and
place the web user control to one aspx page. it doesn't work. mouse hover worked but not getting values from database. it returns the following error message!!!
Web Service Call Failed : 500
can any one explain how to do this. giv me a code for this.

Hi
Over the past few months I've been developing a clan CMS (Oh, how common) in ASP.NET as a pet project.
In this I've made the data access layer into a dll. This works absolutely perfectly when I'm testing it locally. However, I recently moved a copy of the whole project to my windows server. When attempting to view the project on the server, the dll and it's content is not registering properly and is resulting in exceptions being thrown. You can see one here: http://www.dailytip.net/cms/admin/games.aspx
I have tried opening the whole thing in Visual Studio '08 through FTP and making sure that it is referencing the dll at all and from the right place. This did not work.
I have tried opening the class library project in Visual Studio through FTP and building it from there straight on to the server. This did not work.
I have tried building a new version (with the correct connection string) on my local system and uploading it through FTP. This hasn't worked.
Has anybody got any idea as to how I can fix this? I'd like to get it fixed before I continue.
P.S: I have changed the connection strings in the config files to the server based database (as opposed to my local). I have tried to give you as much detail as I can as to the problem. If you need anything more, just ask and I'll see what I can do.
Don't you just hate coming up with something to put here?
