Shouldn't it be:
ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["your_con_string"].ToString()
Assuming this is for 2.0 and you've added the proper imports/using statement.
e.g. (C#) using System.Configuration;
(VB) Imports System.Configuration
Hope this helps :->

Hi,
You can use
SelectedValue='<%# Bind("MyField") %>'
To set selected value.
To succeed, we must first believe that we can.

I am having a problem connecting to a MS SQL server on my web host due to a firewall here at work. I am able to get it to work at home and it works once I send it to the website, but I can’t test it in my development environment at work. My question is, if I use a local database in the APP_DATA directory, does this use a lot more bandwidth than connecting to a MS SQL server. I am concerned that each time someone would use this database, it would have to download a copy to their PC and then run the query. Can someone explain how this works? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hi,
If it is that much easy.
Then think about your system security.

Hi! I'm trying to run an EXE from an Asp.net page through following line of code System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("<path>") . But EXE does not come up although it is there in the processes tab of the task bar. I've also tried using impersonation but that is not working either. Any ideas how to show the exe run from a web page.
Thanks in advance.

Are you trying to run the exe on the client?
|
|
|
|
|
My first question would be: are you trying to get it to show on the client or the server? I take it you know running that code from the page code-behind will start it on the server, perhaps the exe doesn't have a UI?
|

|
Hi! I'm trying to run it on the server. Regarding UI, this exe is a windows sevice watcher which will show a notification icon in the system tray to start or stop the windows service. I'm able to run this exe as a windows form but not from a web form. Can I develop a windows service watcher through web form which can be used to start or stop the windows service.
Many Thanks

Hello Everybody,
I have a class. I dont want a particular public class member/method to be listed in intellisense property.
I have tried [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] attribute.
But for this, i have to have a property. And that member is now anyway displayed as property in intellisense.
I dont see any difference even after commenting [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] attribute.
Can anybody explain me how this [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] works?
What is the exact purpose?
Thanks for your response...

Yes... Replicated the same in my class too...
But I am seeing the prorty displayed in intellisens regardless of [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] attribute's presence.
|
|
|
|
|
Why do you not want it displayed in intellisense?

Not complaining, just curious.
