Hi all
In a asp.net form i have many controls. So i want user to fill all fields with proper data so i want to validate those controls. I tried writing a code like this but it didn't work
If TxtFname.Text = "" Then
MsgBox("Enter The First Name")
End If
Server Error in '/WebApplication2' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is invalid to show a modal dialog or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application
Can any tell me the code that i need to implement here. like fields should not be empty, and in text boxes user should not be able to enter numeric value and vice versa.

hi frnd,
The best to validate the textbox in web application is use
JAVAScript
just try out following code in soure
type in
after <title>
function ClickMe()
{
if document.getElementById("txtFName").value==""
{
alert("Please Enter FName");
return false;
}
}
Call this method on click

You can use validation controls provided by .Net or can also use javascript for that purpose. Normal validation should be done on client side.

Hi Guys and Gals.
When I try to run a report created in CrystalReport (.NET 2005) on a button_Click event I get the following error: Load Report Failed.
Here is my code:
ReportDocument myReportDocument;
myReportDocument = new ReportDocument();
myReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath("Report.rpt"));
myReportDocument.SetDataSource(ds);
The report is in the same directory as my application. What else can possibly be the problem?
Thanx
Elizma

If you get a Load Report Failed when trying to run a Crystal Report, then this exception is thrown by the Crystal Reports engine when it cannot open the report file.
Please mention the path correctly in your code.
myReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(C:\MyApp\Report.rpt));
Hope this may be your Problem.

Satips.

Hi,
Thanx for reply, but if I change the code:
myReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(@"C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\PlastPortal\Report.rpt"));
I get the following error:
'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\PlastPortal\Report.rpt' is not a valid virtual path.

Tell me the structure of of directories.
I mean
In which directory the reports is?
and
From which directory you are calling the report?
Give the relative path of the report in your calling place.

My Directory:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\PlastPortal\Report.rpt
myReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath(@"C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\PlastPortal\Report.rpt"));
Generates the following error:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\PlastPortal\Report.rpt' is not a valid virtual path.
Call the Report straight
myReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath("Report.rpt"));
Generates the following Error:
Load report failed.
Dont know what else to do.

Hi
We actually gone through quite a few problems with this. I will try to help you. I know one thing we had to do is to give write access to everyone to the C:\Temp folder. If you need more assistance, you can mail me at elizma_smith@hotmail.com
I know how I struggled with this and was very gratefull for Sylvester to assist me.
Kind Regards,
Elizma

Hi
In one of the article in Code Project,I found (!IsPostBack).
I want to know the difference between (!Page.IsPostBack) and (!IsPostBack).
If they are same then why we are using (!Page.IsPostBack)?
Thank u
