You should learn to check the documentation[^]. As mentioned, the third argument is the position of your button.

Hi,
I am working as a software Engineer(C/C++) since last 2.5 years. My work includes application development in C,C++ using some GIS(Geographic information systems) API. We are not using MFC or any other VC++ components. Now I am looking for a job change in C++ and UNIX/Windows but not able to get some good opportunity. I am finding it really hard to find a new job. I have good working knowledge of C, C++ and also worked in UNIX for 8 months. Is it difficult for me to change GIS Domain now? Please guide me to choose correct career path.
Thanks

thanks for your reply.what i offer is only my skills and dedication for work but really nowadays employer's expectations are really high.they want jack of all trades.

Employers do have high expectations, and with the current situation with lots of applicants for every job, they can afford to be that way. To even be considered for an interview you have to stand out from the crowd, which means having a good CV (resume), a good portfolio where appropriate, and a litel bit of style in your job application letter or email. Have a look round the net for more detailed advice on these.
I've been involved in selection and interviewing a lot over the years, and what I (and most people) look for as much as technical competency, is a good personality, ability to learn, think on your feet, and someone who'll integrate well with the rest of the team - although technical skills are of course the most important consideration.

Not really, or at least not in the industries I've worked in. Many jobs require specific skills, and even if you're not an exact match, having related ability, or knowledge of a field can be an asset, as can clear demonstration of the ability to quickly learn and adapt.
My best advice is to just keep applying - there are plenty of jobs out there (but there are a lot of people after them). You just have to get someone's attention once, and you can be the one selected.Days spent at sea are not deducted from one's alloted span - Phoenician proverb

I have a base class say “ClassBase” and I have derived two classes “Classdrv1” & “Classdrv2” from base class as shown below. Now I am not sure how to use class “Classdrv2” in “Classdrv1”. For this implementation there should not be any code change in base class. What is the best approach for the same?
Class ClassBase
{
}
class Classdrv1 : public ClassBase
{
// need to use classdrv2 here, how?
}
class Classdrv2 : public ClassBase
{
}
Thanks,
Nandu

You may do, for instance:
class Base
{
};
class Der2;
class Der1: public Base
{
Der2 * pd2;
};
class Der2: public Base
{
};

Thanks Pallini, This is one approach, other than this do we have another approach available.

Just how do you plan to use it?
You do realize that to use the class, unless you are talking about a static (class) function, you need an object of the class.
So how are you getting this object & how long are you keeping it for? How does it relate to the rest of the program? An object of Classdrv2 of its own for the entire lifetime of a Classdrv1 object? An object of Classdrv2 just for use during the execution of a member function of Classdrv1? An object of Classdrv2 provided by a caller for manipulation by a member function of Classdrv1?
There are lots of possibilities. Which is right for your situation depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you explained more, you might get more focused answers.Please do not read this signature.

i have a button control(IDC_BUTTON1) the default size is 50*50,if i click on that , button has to resize the 50*150 with the same position.please help me

Use MoveWindow supplying the handle of the button and specify the new dimensions.
You can also use SetWindowPos .
|
|
|
|
|
If you are using MFC then you may call the SetWindowPos method, specifying (SWP_NOZORDER | SWP_NOMOVE) for the nFlags argument.

Hi All,
I am using AcroPDF.PDF control to host pdf document in my MFC application.
m_wnd.CreateControl( _T("AcroPDF.PDF.1"), NULL, WS_CHILD | WS_VISIBLE, rect, this, 0);
When the client machine had AdobeReader 9.0. The Adobe(AcroReader) memory is attached to my application memory.
When the client machine had AdobeReader 8.0. The Adobe(AcroReader) is a seperate process.
How can i make sure that in either cases i make acro reader out of proc.
When i had the adobe inproc to my application i am getting memory related issues. So i want to kee the adobe out of proc.
Any inputs on how we can make it outproc is appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi,
Thanks for the info.
I am in the situation where the dll is on several client machines. My application when using the dll should be sure it will load as outproc.

Hey guys i am facing a problem in my sql statement. I am trying to check if there is such a value in the database.
Code:
string NewMovie = "ww";
string queryText ;
queryText = "Select * from movie_info WHERE movie_title = '"+ NewTitle +"'";
MYSQL *conn;
conn=mysql_init(NULL);
mysql_real_connect(conn,host,username,password,database,0,NULL,0);
mysql_query(conn,queryText.c_str());
????
mysql_close(conn);
return 0;
The problem i am facing is how do i check if the value is found. I read up and found that a query will return a value of TRUE if the query is a success and a FAIL if there is an error. How do i call these values and then based the check on it?
|
|
|
|
|
I guess you'll get 0 (i.e. success) either if the record is found and if it is NOT found, because, technically, the query succeeded.
Why don't you query instead for the record count (using the COUNT SQL function)?
If the Lord God Almighty had consulted me before embarking upon the Creation, I would have recommended something simpler.

Yeap i tried smting like this...
string NewTitle = "ww";
string queryText ;
queryText ="Select COUNT(*) from movie_info WHERE movie_title = '"+ NewTitle +"'";
if (mysql_query(conn,queryText.c_str()) )
{
}
but im not too sure how to get the values out? like if it reads 1 table? how can i call it out?

|

The query is OK. Now you've to fetch the data (actually the single value).
An example here [^] (check out the "Retrieving data from the database" section).

Well,
You start with buying a few Books about the Subject, Reading them, and, then when you know what you're talking about, you start Googeling.
