Thank you.
But all the same.
VARIANT varIndex;
varIndex.vt = VT_I4;
varIndex.lVal = 2;
VARIANT var2;
VariantInit( &var2 );
spCollectEmbed->item(varIndex, var2, &pItem);
I tried above. I give the varIndex a const:2;
pItem is not NULL now which would be null if I use a for loop when i==2;
so strange.

Hi,
When socket_error on server during accept function, is that mandatory to close the server socket(listening socket)?
If the error is not critical why can't the server skip the error & again wait for new connection?
Any suggestions please...

In OnRclickMyTree
pTree->GetSelectedItem returns the item which is selected previously.
How to use right click to change the selected item?

Hello all
In my application I am adding some fonts in Fonts dir and according to my knowledge, it is compulsory to open the Fonts folder and then close it to register the new fonts with OS.
For that I am opening the fonts folder through installer. I need to close that folder manually.
So is there any function that will open and close the fonts folder manually?
OR
Is there any other way to register the fonts with OS without opening the Fonts folder from Windows directory?
Thanks
Rakesh

Thanks Mike.
Thats really usefull information abt Fonts folder.
I'll try using AddFontResource() fun. But One more question ....
Is it still required to open and then close the fonts folder after executing AddFontResource() function or the Fonts get Registered with OS auomatically?
Thanks

You can use perfmon utility that is shipped with windows this will atleast give you some idea.
Somethings seem HARD to do, until we know how to do them.

Could you please tell me
Where this utility is.
How I can open and use it ( its location /path) and some using hints
Thanks

One way is to go to the Run option in the Start Menu and type perfmon.
Another one is to go to the Administrative Tools in Start Menu>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Performance

Try _AnShUmAn_'s idea; you need to determine why it's getting slow. Is it consuming too much CPU time? Is it consuming too much memory? Even task manager can be a big help with this.

OK, IF its CPU consuming hten how can handle it , otherwise if its memory using how can I handle it

None of these questions have a useful generic answer apart from the obvious. i.e. Use less CPU time/memory. First things first: identify the problem.

HI,
I have check CPU usage is 99% , while memory usage is 3500 K
So how can I reduce CPU usage for my application so that other application aslo run smothly
Regards.

You need to find out which part of you code is consuming all the CPU time. You could try a profiler. There is also the "poor man's profiler": run the program in a debugger and break execution multiple times and see what the program is doing.

Could you please send me a link to a free and good profiler download

He, I think your code may have infinity loop.
Like this:
while(i < 100){
//forget increase i
//i++;
}
Check the loops in your code.
