Once you added the component ( as david wrote ), you can use the IHTMLDocument2 interface to access the HTML document, and directly write HTML code ( text ) to the document.
if you want to navigate to an existing document ( on disk or from the web ) you need to Navigate from the IWebBrowser2 interface.
do a little explorating on CodeProject, you will find pretty much what you want.

I have been confused with the following way of programming. please help me.
In my project I have a frame window and as its part 3 classes. A treeview , a window and a HTML control. Through the window I can select some directories. As soon as the selection is made the tree view must display all the HTML files in that directory. When clicking on the HTML file name in hte tree control it must be displayed in the HTML control. To carry I have used splitter windows. Now the problem comes. I dont know How to organise the classes and where to write the event handler!
As an example how can I pass the button click event in the window to the tree control. Or a click event in the tree control to the HTML control. Though these 3 are seperate classes and their objects are not related each other, it makes me confused! (I would like to write the event handler for each class in that class itself and I dont want to mess up the frame window with lots of code....)
could you please help me? Thanks in advance..
Lloyd.

When the document changes, it sends notification to the view(s) via UpdateAllViews() . The view(s), in turn, can call GetDocument() to get the latest data to render.

Hi there,
Has anybody out there got any experiece using the "SetMetrics" function of a CToolBarCtrl ?.
What i am trying to achieve is to have some spacing between my toolbar buttons.
The current implementation that i have is as follows -
CToolBarCtrl& rToolbarCtrl = m_wndToolBar.GetToolBarCtrl();
TBMETRICS tbMetrics = { 0 };
tbMetrics.cbSize = sizeof( TBMETRICS );
tbMetrics.dwMask = ( TBMF_PAD | TBMF_BARPAD | TBMF_BUTTONSPACING );
rToolbarCtrl.GetMetrics( &tbMetrics );
tbMetrics.cxButtonSpacing += 10;
rToolbarCtrl.SetMetrics( &tbMetrics );
Now with this the buttons still seem to be set at the original spacing.
Could anybody shed some light on my problem.
Regards.

Resources are missing.
Add a resources (static controls) in your resource file. it will solve the problem

take the resource window (dialog editor) Right click on the any of the tool bars. from the menu appearing select "Controls"
there you can see the static controls, buttons, edit box, etc...

Another problem:
When I'm running the project it doesn't write me anything in the Static control(with the degital design) , but I can change the background color on the object
What can be the problem?
here is the code of the intialization of the object:
<br />
m_Digital.SetNumberOfLines(20);<br />
m_Digital.SetXCharsPerLine(18);<br />
m_Digital.SetSize(CMatrixStatic::LARGE);<br />
m_Digital.SetDisplayColors(RGB(0, 255, 0), RGB(0, 255, 50), RGB(0, 103, 30));<br />
m_Digital.AdjustClientXToSize(18);<br />
m_Digital.AdjustClientYToSize(1);<br />
m_Digital.SetText("Hello");<br />
m_Digital.SetColor(RGB(0, 255, 255), RGB(0, 255, 8));<br />
m_Digital.SetAutoPadding(true); <br />
What can be the problem?

Can you tell me detail of this function usage? Because, I can't use returned value (second parameter) of this function as a string.

Why not? Just assign it to a std::string object.

I would like just ask what it is the best way to transfert data between software. The is many way , DCOM, DDE, or TCPIP connection . The software that I will use have to run on the same PC.
I know that it is possible to used TCPIP but I do not know if it is a good solution ! I have never used the DCOM !
Thank you.

Memory-mapped file (MMF) is the lowest level of all the IPCs you described. It is also the fastest. The rest all has more or less overhead added. On Windows, MMF is also vaguely called "shared memory".

However, TCP has the very nice benefit that should you ever want to move one of these programs to a separate computer, you've done most of the work already.

Maybe you need to clarify just a few things:
What kind of data you want to exchange ?
How often will data be exchanged ?
Are you sure the application will ALWAYS have to run on the same PC ?
Will you need the code to be portable ?
On the same PC:
- You can use WM_COPYDATA message.
- You can use the clipboard to exchange data. This is very easy. RegisterClipboardFormat will be needed if your data is not text.
- Memory map file is easy and efficient.
- Shared memory. Article on codeproject[^]
- DDE is a bit more complex. Might want to read this[^]
- Sockets. Fast and easy at low level. Can be tricky for newcomers. Might want to use a class provided on this site. Many articles on this site.
If the data will need to be exchanged from different computers, then sockets will be the way to go. If you can use a known protocol, HTTP for example, then use it. Again, if your not familiar with sockets and protocols, it can be a lot of work and tricky to implement, so use an existing class.
my five cents.

What kind of data you want to exchange ?
-char or container that will contain a structur of data.
How often will data be exchanged ?
- 2-10 times per hours.
Are you sure the application will ALWAYS have to run on the same PC ?
- Actualy it will be only of one computer but it is possible that change (not for this project!).
Will you need the code to be portable ?
-No.
When you say socket it is conection using TCPIP ?
In your list there is not the DCOM, it is from you side not a possible solution ?
Thank for your help.
