if you want to do it at runtime - form.Size = new Size(100,100);
if you want to do it do it at design time there is a form property - FormBorderStyle
set it to fixedSingle
|
|
|
|
|
I want it to be do in runtime, I write the code in form resize method as
if (me.width <= 1000) then
me.width = 1000
end if
if i gave like this, while runtime user can able to resize the form width upto less than 1000 but after removing mouse button it will set to size width as 1000,
I don't want like this, i need form should be resized only upto its width 1000.
Be simple and Be sample.
|
|
|
|
|
|
So the user can resize the form but it must not be resized bigger than 1000??
try swapping the smaller than sign to a bigger than sign -
if (me.width >= 1000) then
me.width = 1000
end if

How can i export sql database to msde database through dts over network.when i tried through dts it didn't showed me msde instance.Is there any special way of installing msde
|
|
|
|
|
As far as I can remember, MSDE doesn't have that functionality.
Another option would be to script the entire SQL database using the Enterprise Manager in SQL Server. Then the copy the resulting file to the other machine and execute that script to recreate the database. Warning -- if you have mountains of data, the script will be HUGE.

can anyone point me in the right direction to get this accomplished?
I have an app that I am working on and it manages shoutcast stations and there info. Currently when they click preview on one of the stations it loads the station in winamp and plays it.
What I need to do is make it so when they click preview the shoutcast stream is play from within the app and not launching winamp.

Hi to all! I am a novice trying to learn VB.net 2003. I am currently taking a course in the subject at a local university. What I am trying to do is create a combobox similar to the ones in online forms where the states are listed and say you want Kentucky, all you do is hit the K key twice and Kentucky apears. This has stumped our professor. He is use to VB 6.0 and VB.net is different in this area I am told. I am sure that everyone here has alot mof experience with VB code and I appologise for this thread but I want to learn this. Can some one please help. here is my code
Private Sub cboColors_TextChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cboColors.TextChanged
'This will allow you to chose the color for the background or the text color.
Dim IntIndex As Integer = 0
Dim blnFound As Boolean = False
Dim strListCompare As String
Dim strTextCompare As String
Do While Not blnFound And IntIndex < cboColors.Items.Count
strListCompare = cboColors.Items(IntIndex)
strListCompare = strListCompare.ToUpper
strTextCompare = cboColors.Text.ToUpper
If strListCompare.StartsWith(strTextCompare) Then
cboColors.SelectedIndex = IntIndex
blnFound = True
End If
IntIndex += 1
Loop
End Sub
THank you all for any help with this.

this is simple, change the dropdownsyle in properties to DropDownList
then it will scroll like you want instead of typeing text.
lol your professor didnt know that?

I am totally embarrassed now. Thank you very much. I see I have a lot to learn as well as my professor. Once again thank you.

Hello everybody. I am trying to open a WORD document from VB.NET. Just one day ago it was working ok. Now i get the following:
QueryInterface for interface Word._Application failed.
at Word.ApplicationClass.set_Visible(Boolean prop)
when i am trying to open the word document. I have a reference to Word 8.0, and when I tryed to change it to reference a Word 11.0 (Office 2003) after the debug it wasn't working. I even restored my backup file with the word 8 reference and again i get the same error. I deleted the whole directory that i had the program on and restored from back up and nothing. I tryed in a WIn98 machine with Office 2002 and worked OK. What the heck is going on? Any help please. I am attaching my set of commands.
/===============================================
Dim i As Integer
Dim oWord As Word.ApplicationClass
oWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
oWord.Visible = True
oWord.Documents.Open(Application.StartupPath & "\stecr1.doc")
//===========================================
Still trying to find the way

I am making a winforms-program in Visual Studio, that connects to an Access database. In the database all dates are presented in this format : dd-mm-yyyy. In my application I have a DatetimePicker, that is presented in Dutch, the monthnames etc. But when I write this date (e.g. 08-10-2004, which is oktober the 8th) to the table, my application writes and picks up the date in US-format (10-08-2004).
I have tried 'System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = New System.Globalization.CultureInfo("nl-NL")' and I have set Office to work with the US language as default. No succes.
Can anyone advise me, please?

Try to go to control panel and find Regional and Language Option (in windows xp) icon. Double click on it, on the first tab click on the Customize... button and click on the Date tab. From this tab you can set the order of your date as you want. Try to do it and let me know if it is working or not.

The language-settings for the dates (and currencies) are all in the right format. In Access the dates are in the right format.
It is just my Visual Studio program, that switches days and months.
What I noticed however, is that in Access, when I use a query like SELECT * FROM tblLeden WHERE StartDate = #10-06-2000#, I have to use the US-format to find all records that are from the 6th of oktober. When I use SELECT * FROM tblLeden WHERE StartDate = #06-10-2000# , I find the records that are from the 10th of june. Still, when I look in the table, I see that the StartDate is correct (06-10-2000, which means the 6th of oktober, which is correct).

Hi all !
I have an app that read the content of a folder, when we specify one...
the thing is this :
I add a contextual menu in the «Windows contextual menu for folder» (when a folder is right-click...) that say "open with (my app...)"...
So when i right-click a folder, and select that menu, my prog. open, with the folder as "content to read"...
My question is this :
With windows 2K, sp4, everythings is fine, and working well...
BUT
With windows XP sp2 (maybe sp1 too, didn't test it...), i have an error message when i try the same operation... It says : access refused (sorry, the real error msg is in french, so it may not be that exact spelling in english...), with the name of the folder i was trying to open...
I'm admin on that computer, so it is not access rights, or something else...
Maybe XP sp2 is too much secured ???
If you need more details, ask for it...
I may not have been as much clear as i would like to...
Thanks for your time !
Ding !

Yeah, that's what i think first, but i'll need to install my app on a lot of computer, and i'll be oblige to configure all of them ?
I'd like to use an installer...
And maybe i'm wrong, but by giving full trust to my app by the framework configuration didn't solve my problem, so is it really security related ?
I'll read all about SP2, but i'm suspecting it will be a lot of wasted time...
Thank for your reply, The man from SCN-CO !!

It is not a security related problem...
See, windows 2k can use som relative link (ex. %programfiles%\(folder)...)
In HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\
But XP just ignore it, so i have to use an absolute path
(c:\program files\...)
Pretty stupid, eh...

I'm writing an ASP.net web page to create new users, and its all going very well. I can create users, set almost all of the AD fields and configure a password. The one thing that is bugging me is the profile path field (profilePath in AD). Everytime it attempts to commitchanges, it bombs out. I've tried changing the format I send it in from \\servername\sharename\username to \\\\servername\\sharename\\username (this is how the output of csvde displays this AD field). Its not a permissions thing as I've set the path where the share and NTFS permissions are set to full control for everyone. I'm now configuring 20 or so AD fields, but this one is going to drive me mad!!!!
This is the section of code:-
Dim ADLocation As New DirectoryEntry("LDAP://DCNAME/" & LDAP_PATH, "domain\accountname", "password")
Dim NewUserAccount As DirectoryEntry = ADLocation.Children.Add("CN=" & txtSamAccountName.Text, "user")
.
.
NewUserAccount.Properties("profilepath").Add("\\servername\sharename\username")
NewUserAccount.CommitChanges()
Any help much appreciated.
