I need to be able to login to several accounts simultaneously using Internet Explorer and the login/password credentials on one browser should not go over to the second browser. This involves cookie handling
The problem is the same as described on this page: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/log-into-multiple-gmail-accounts-at-once/[^] Unfortunately I cannot use Firefox as my browser as the Program I am using to code (winbatch) does not work with Firefox, Works only with Iinternet Explorer.
Hence if there is a windows tool or a IE tool or a plugin whereby I can set each instance of IE to have its own cookies that would do the job
Please help
Thanks

* I have a code that generate form dynamically (form on a webpage is generated through code).
The action attribute is set to 'TestMyPage.ashx'.
When run, this URL is opened successfully in IE.
* But when same value ('TestMyPage.ashx') is set for action attribute for FireFox, it do not load the said page.
* When checked, for FireFox it loads the page only when it is prefixed with protocol, host and virtual directory information, like
"protocol://localdomain/virtualdirectory/pagename.ashx"
Example:
"http://localhost:8795/myapp/TestMyPage.ashx"
This url is successfully loaded by FireFox.
But I don't want to set those prefixes (protocol, host, virtual dir.) myself.
When searched on, it found that FireFox should also behave like IE in this case. So I could not guess what is the problem for such behaviour in my application (Is it because the form is generated dynamically?..)
Any suggestion is welcome...
Thank you.

I was addressing this comment in particular:

I'm just suggesting that you should set them yourself to get around the issue.

Below is the code for the same I am finding the solution.
-----------------------------------
if( isIE )
{
var _form = this.innerDocument.createElement('<form id = "UPLOADMYPAGE" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="TestMyPage.ashx" />');
var formHTML = _form.outerHTML;
document.getElementById('MYFRAME').contentWindow.document.body.innerHTML = formHTML;
}
else
{
var protocol = document.location.protocol;
var host = document.location.host;
var _form = document.createElement('form');
this.innerDocument.body.appendChild(_form);
_form.id = 'UPLOADMYPAGE';
_form.name = 'UPLOADMYPAGE';
_form.method = 'post';
_form.enctype = 'multipart/form-data';
_form.action = protocol + '//' + host + virtualDirectoryName + '/TestMyPage.ashx';
}
document.getElementById('MYFRAME').contentWindow.document.getElementById('UPLOADMYPAGE').submit();
-------------------------------------------
//This is requirement from Code Testing Team. So I have to make it possible without using prefixes.
//Please suggest how can this code be modified to provide only page name for action attribute in FireFox as in case of IE. I would like to know why FireFox is not doing it (as I have came to know that FireFox loads as that of IE).

Same code as above reply is posted again since comments added by me were not viewable (sorry for inconvenience).
-------------------------------------------
if( isIE )

var _form = this.innerDocument.createElement('<form id = "UPLOADMYPAGE" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="TestMyPage.ashx" />');
var formHTML = _form.outerHTML;
document.getElementById('MYFRAME').contentWindow.document.body.innerHTML = formHTML;
}
else
{
var protocol = document.location.protocol;
var host = document.location.host;
var _form = document.createElement('form');
this.innerDocument.body.appendChild(_form);
_form.id = 'UPLOADMYPAGE';
_form.name = 'UPLOADMYPAGE';
_form.method = 'post';
_form.enctype = 'multipart/form-data';
_form.action = protocol + '//' + host + virtualDirectoryName + '/TestMyPage.ashx';
}
document.getElementById('MYFRAME').contentWindow.document.getElementById('UPLOADMYPAGE').submit();

When I tried using below code it correctly worked. FireFox opened webpage mentioned in action attribute (page name without protocol, domain and virtual directory).
var f1 = document.createElement("form");
f1.id = 'MYFORM';
f1.name = 'MYFORM';
f1.method = 'post';
f1.action="TestPage.aspx";
alert(f1.action);
this.document.body.appendChild(f1);
f1.submit();
I could not guess why in my main application's code (posted before this post) is not showing complete url when "alert" is done. In that it shows only the page name and not the complete url.
Can anyone guess what might be the reason for this...
Thank you.

Hi all,
I need a really quick response if you can...
The website that I run has just gone in to 'Sale' mode (its a retail website), and we have underestimated its popularity by quite alot.
How can I cap the number of new connections to the website to prevent it running far too slow?
I tried using the IIS limit connections, but although it worked, it meant that people part way through a transaction could still get the service unavailable message, is there something similar that will only turn away new connections until a current one becomes avaliable once someone has finished with it?
Please help, it's only going to be like it for a day or two so I need an answer ASAP if possible.
Many thanks in advance
Mark

I've been designing a browser game and things will take some (Real) time to complete in-game. I've checked out Travian and that's how it works too so I've been thinking of a viable way to do this. I came up with the following solution... maybe you can give me some tips (whether its viable or not, and if there's any other way to do this).
Have a windows service running all the time. Whenever the user does something which will need time to complete, it is inserted into a table with the action and the time of completion. Every second (I was thinking of having 15 second increments in event completion time so I don't need to hit the database every second) the service checks the table and accomplishes any events which are past their completion time. Additionally, on the user's end there will be an AJAX timer that updates the page whenever needed.
I dunno, I'm seeing some problems with this (like for example, how can I update the user's page when the event completes if its completion is not actually being done by the page?).
Cheers.

You would need to have the web page poll every so often as well, to check if the event is complete (using the AJAX timer, which you already mentioned)?

Or I could have a javascript timer to display a countdown and then once that is over the page would refresh?

hi,
I am looking for a algorithm that will sort the videos by top-rated.
One of the things to consider is that if the average rating for a video that is rated 200 times is 4.7 should be higher than a video that has an average rating of 5 which has been rated only once.

Question:
How many additional times must the 5 voted video be voted 5 for before it is higher rated than the 4.7 video?

If you open a can of worms, any viable solution *MUST* involve a larger can.

that is the question i have.
I can accept any algorithm that will have some logic around the idea that a video that has been rated high many times is higher than a video that is rated higher only by a few number of users.
also, what is the effect of age of the video on this.

I think you need to get that part sorted out before you move on to the sorting part and I'm not sure that this is the right place to get the info you want. You might try googling 'Ranking System algorithms' or something like that. If you can find an answer out there, by all means come back here for the sorting part. You'll find lots of opinions on that.

To be honest, you have to lie!
You could assume that every video has the same number of votes. The votes that are not 'real' would be neutral or average. If your scale is 1-5 and every video has the same number of votes then the video with the one vote at 5 also has 199 at 2.5.
((199*2.5)+(1*5))/200
video 2 needs 176 votes at 5 to equal video 2's rating
better still assume all videos have 1000 votes (or whatever) - still works out the same
video 1 with 200 votes at 4.7
(200*4.7+800*2.5)/1000=2.94
video 2 with 1 vote at 5
(1*5+999*2.5)/1000=2.503
video 2 with 176 votes at 5
(176*5+(1000-176)*2.5)/1000=2.94
