Hey...
Dont bother about the statement size. It can be of pages. What is the concern, is that how you handle such a long statement. Modify the statement to make some ranges and remove numbers between them. It would be a good solution if it matches your criteria..
The most important concern on search is if the table is properly indexed or not. Always index on the fields that come across to a where statement..
Hope this help you.

First of all thanks for your appreciation.
Well, if you need to do autocorrect, you can use LINQ. Its easy and handy..
Otherwise you can use this :

or

thanks for replying. I have used the autocomplete ajax extender but by multiple word search i meant how would i implement a search so that it allows "Battery for laptop aspire 234" or may be "Battery Aspire 234". Again by autocorrect i meant that if somebody happens to type in Apsire(instead of aspire) how would i suggest aspire ...

Hey there:
i have this calendar control i used to put a html text box and an image and on click event on image a pop up calendar appears. Now when i removed the image and i added it to html textbox onclick event it gives me an error stating Can not load Date Control. Please Could any one tell me why and if there is any solution??

There is no way one can help you without seeing what code it ran during the click of the picture or onclick of the textbox.
Please let us know what calendar control you are using, and how this is rendered.

|
<td>
<input type="text" id="txtStartDate" runat="server" style="width: 160px"
onkeypress="return DisableSpecialCharactersWithLength(this,event,false,false,false,0)"
onclick="javascript:popUpCalendar(this,'<%=txtStartDate.ClientID%>','mmm dd yyyy')" />
</td>
<td style="padding-top: 2px">
<img alt="" id="img2" style="cursor: pointer" border="0" src="../../Images/calendar.gif"
onclick="javascript:popUpCalendar(this,'<%=txtStartDate.ClientID%>','mmm dd yyyy')" />
</td>
now the input in the first TD has the error becuase i added popcalendar on onclick event , but when i remove it and i use the image onclick event having the same code then it works fine, it is really confusing me guys, even if i changed onclick event on the text box to on focus, on blur ....

I think as you are using Javascript calendar, in the code written over the function, it should be expecting an img to generate the click event. Check what is written inside the popUpCalendar function. Just adjust the code such that it would get the event from the textbox itself rather than the image.
You can see from within PopUpCalendar , you pass this . In case of img, this represents the img object but in case of textbox it is input. These objects are completely different when you work using javascript. So you need to modify your code to support this... ...
Hope you can do that.

Thanks a lot it helped and it worked, the problem was that i was searching for client Id of a control that was not created the moment i changed to this.id it worked fine. what helped that you told me that the problem is inside the script and when i did read the script i found that the error appearing was that it did not find the control iw ill mark your above answer as the solution.

I have a flash movie clip embedded in a VB (classic) form.
The movie contains a face object named face1, which contains
objects left_eye and right_eye. The eye object has a method
named blink() used to blink the eye.
I want to call this action script method when a command button
is clicked on the form like this:
Private sub cmdBlink_click()
face1.left_eye.blink();
End sub
Can any one give a clue about doing this? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I need to register cookies of another site on user's PC when they visit my site. For this purpose, I have used an <object> tag, like this:
<object type="text/html" data="http://othersite.com" width="50" height="50">
This registers the cookies of the other site into client's browser. But the problem is that the site I am loading inside the <object> tag contains a lot of graphics and flash, taking a long time to load.
Is there any way to load only part of the site (headers only) so that the cookies are registered quickly? The page has to come from the other site directly, otherwise cookies wont register for that site.
Thanks for ur time.
Regards,
M.

Hello, what is the value for checked attribute for check box where its not full true and not full false. the check box usually has a full green square inside of it thanks. Am doing this because am using grid view that has on each row check box any help?

Hi all,
I am using ASP.NET 2.0.I have a gridview which has 5-6 columns and two template columns, one containing a dropdownlist and other containing a textbox.The grid also contains three columns viz Itemcode, BatchNo and LOtNo, all three combine to form the primary key of the table.Now on a button click which is outside the grid ,i need to check that the Sum of all the distinct items irrespective of batch, lot be same
Actually I have two problems:
1.I used the following code for looping through the grid:
$('#Item_Details tr').each(function() {
if (!this.rowIndex) return;
var packsize = $(this).find("td").eq(3).html();
var ddl_id=$(this).find(':input[type=select]').attr('id');
var textid_id=$(this).find(':input[type=text]').attr('id');
here i am able to get the textbox id but ddl id always returns undefined !!!!
2. Whats the best method with which i can group the items and find the sum using jQuery???
Any help would be appreciated....
When you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.

var ddl_id = $(this).find(':input[type=select]').attr('id');
You used an error selector.
Ex:
var ddl_id = $(this).find('select').attr('id');

in database there is radiobuttonvalue stored.
when form is loaded at that time it should check whether the database value is radiobutton value. if it is ,then it should show the radiobutton checked
at form load.
