All I see are some column headings. No buttons. What am I supposed to see or do?
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

The reason you can't see data in the table is because I can't post the data, I have it on my system and they are sensitive data, so I can't post it online.

Yes you said that. But when I open the fiddle all I see are column headers, nothing else. Isn't there supposed to be a button? How can we reproduce the error?

Okay, now I get you, the button is rendered from the javascript code. This is only rendered if there is data in the table. Kindly have a look at the code under this function $( "#buttonShowtContract" ).click(function () {. You will find where the button is being rendered.

You'll have to debug your code. Sorry, but I'm not going to read through all the code and try to guess what is wrong.

Also the error I get when I try to create a new row is this: DataTables warning: table id=editSSHTable - Requested unknown parameter 'MeterNumber' for row 10.

I'm trying to implement autocomplete feature for my search text box. Fire bug shows the error shown in subject. Please let me know my mistake.
Please find my code below.
@model MvcApplication1.Models.UserProfile
@{
ViewBag.Title = "UserProfile";
}
<form method="post">
<input type="text" name="userName" />
<input type="submit" value="Search By Name" />
</form>
<div id="restaurantList">
@foreach (var item in ViewBag.users)
{
<div>
<h4>@item.UserName</h4>
<div>
@item.Country
</div>
<div>
Mail: @item.Email
</div>
<hr />
</div>
}
</div>
<script src="~/Scripts/jquery-1.8.2.min.js"></script>
<script src="~/Scripts/jquery-ui-1.9.2.min.js"></script>
@Styles.Render("~/Content/themes/base/css")
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
$("#userName").autocomplete({
source: function (request, response) {
$.ajax({
url: "~/Home/AutoCompleteName",
type: "POST",
dataType: "json",
data: { term: request.term },
success: function (data) {
response($.map(data, function (item) {
return { label: item.Country, value: item.Country };
}))
}
})
},
messages: {
noResults: "", results: ""
}
});
})
</script>
Code in Controller:
public ActionResult UserProfile(string userName = null)
{
string conString = "User Id=RDB; password=RDB; Data Source=172.18.164.146:1521/XE; Pooling=false;";
OracleConnection con = new OracleConnection();
con.ConnectionString = conString;
con.Open();
OracleCommand cmd = con.CreateCommand();
cmd.CommandText = "select USR_USERNAME, USR_COUNTRY, USR_EMAIL_ADDR from OBRS_USER";
OracleDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader();
_db.UserProfiles = new List<Models.UserProfile>();
UserProfile user;
while (reader.Read())
{
user = new UserProfile();
user.UserName = reader.GetString(0);
user.Country = reader.GetString(1);
user.Email = reader.GetString(2);
_db.UserProfiles.Add(user);
}
var model =
_db.UserProfiles
.OrderByDescending(r => r.UserName)
.Where(r => userName == null || r.UserName.StartsWith(userName));
ViewBag.users = model;
return View();
}
public JsonResult AutoCompleteName(string term)
{
var result = (from r in _db.UserProfiles
where r.UserName.ToLower().Contains(term.ToLower())
select new { r.UserName }).Distinct();
return Json(result, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet);

Can you just try
$(function () {
instead of
$(document).ready(function () {
|
|
|
|
|
I tried, still it is giving same error
$(function () {
$("#userName").autocomplete({
source: function (request, response) {
$.ajax({
url: "~/Home/AutoCompleteName",
type: "POST",
dataType: "json",
data: { term: request.term },
success: function (data) {
response($.map(data, function (item) {
return { label: item.Country, value: item.Country };
}))
}
})
},
messages: {
noResults: "", results: ""
}
});
})

In the code he is using textbox in this format
@Html.TextBox("Country")
Have you tried like that
|
|
|
|
|
In your $.ajax call, change the type to "GET" and remove the data and success parameters.
In your .cshtml file, set the method to "get" in your form.
You do not need to pass any other data to the autocomplete function except for the form data.

Web is supposed to be the platform of preference, and the latest version is supposed to be updated to current requirements, but I still have to jump through hoops to get basic things like number formatting and handling... I don't get it
Maybe I shouldn't expect things like localisation to work, even though it works in XAML with virtually no effort.
I bind a decimal value to a read only field, when I want to parse it back to a decimal it fails because I have a . instead of a , - ARGH

Hi,
I have a cafe with internet connection for customers.
And I have a PHP signin page.
I want to know how can I make the connection for internet enabled when the user signin with given PIN, otherwise he'll just get my signin screen just like the hotspots available in some cafes and hotels?
Is this possible using PHP?
Thanks,
Jassim

Hello,
I'm a web application developer, and i've been doing it for ten years using c#, the .NET framework, visual studio express and MS SQL Express on an IIS server.
Now, i've been asked to program a complex CRUDS web application using a XML native database and only free tools.
As i understand it, there is very little possibility to use the .NET framework or even IIS to build web apps with that kind of database, so i looked for other technologies.
The most well known and well documented free XML native database seems to be eXist-db, which apparently comes bundled with a web app development tool called BetterForm (based on the XForms technology if i'm not mistaken).
It also seems that, apart from XForms, the most widely used technology to build web apps with a XML native database, is java with servlets.
I have zero experience in XForms; i know some java (i'm probably a bis rusty since i've not written any java code for the last 8 years, but it's quite similar to c#), but have no experience or skill with servlets and java web apps (i just know it has to use some kind of web server with a servlet container like Tomcat - says volumes about the extent of my ignorance). I also know some php, but am not aware of the possibilities it offers to work with an XML native db.
Given that i very much like the easiness and quickness of use of the GUI and data tools of the .NET Framework and their integration in Visual Studio Express, and that i want to write as few HTML as possible, which technology and tools (emphasis on IDE - wysiwyg à la Visual Studio would be ideal) would you suggest i use.
Thanks in advance

There is no problem to develop .NET application with free tools like VS express edition - the only thing you need is a proper library for your database...

Hello
I have a crude 'test' Webpage here:
http://www.bayingwolf.com/New1/dropdown/test2.html[^]
I am only concerned about the 'Timetable' drop-down box and replicating it in a visible container across the page:
Timetable Timetable Timetable Timetable
I was hoping to use this as my container to hold the four drop-down boxes: HTML
<div class="holder_content_middle"> and this in my women_test.css:
.holder_content_middle {
margin-top:-10px;
margin-bottom:16px;
margin-left:26px;
border-style: solid;
border-width: 5px;
border-color: BD2CBB;
}
but I still can't get the drop-down list boxes across the page framed by that bordered container - I have spent hours trying to achieve it without success.
I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thank you.

If you make a plain html template, put a div in the body with the class mentioned, and use your class attributes like above in a style element in the header it does just what I think you want: a box with a border around it ( I did add a width and height to the div so I could see it ). First thought is that maybe a subsequent css file called for in the html file is overriding your class settings? Try placing your css file with this class above as last in your style element section of your html file and see if that changes anything.

Hi,
I am creating an HTA to perform a custom backup. I would like to use an HTML readonly textarea control as a space that will receive logging output. Whenever I need to log an activity, I'd like to write a new line to the textarea which means you will see multiple lines and you should be able to scroll through them.
If I use the line below, I see it displayed, no problem.
txtLog.value = "Input has been determined to be valid - continuing"
When I try to write another line, the first one disappears and the new line is visible. I have tried to use vbCr, vbLf, and vbCrLf. If I use the line shown below, the cursor moves to the next line but the first line is erased.
txtLog.value = vbCrLf & "Output: Line2"
How do I write multiple lines to the textarea during runtime, have no lines erased and allow for a scrollbar? I do see a scrollbar grayed out so I am assuming that it will appear when the number of rows specified in the textarea tag have been exceeded.
An example in javascript would be acceptable as well even though I'm using vbscript. I can translate it to vbscript if needed.
I have done some searching but haven't found an answer so far. I'm hoping someone in this forum may be familiar with how to do this.
Thanks,
Rob
