Hello,
I wrote some usercontrols with the cascadingdropdownextender. The WebService and the UserControl resides in the dll (Action: Embedded Resource).
if i created a webapplication in asp.net 2.0 with VirtualPathProvider for load the UserControl and next for acessing the WebService, all work well.
In moss, when i construct a webpart the UserControl loads, but the webservie doesn't (Error Method 404). If i have instead controls wich not require webservice like CalenderExtender the webpart works like i expected. What could be wrong!!?
Thanks

you need to deploy your web sites in IIS. for ther you need to create a Virtual Directory for your web sites in IIS and set the properties and you can run from any where in lan by the IP and virtual directory name.
you can find lots of article in google on that !!

install internet information service(iis) in your pc.it can be done by using ur xp cd.after that create a virtual directory in iis(right click on mycomputer-manage -services then take iis-default web site-tasks-create virtual directory) name it xxx and link it with ur root directory of ur website.
place ur website in intepub(it will be created when u install iis) and place it in wwwroot folder and then using IE type address localhost/xxx

Hi, Pls am new in crystal report in ASP.NET 2008 (usign VB codes). I created a CR using dataset (DataTable). Tested it with an SQL statement and it displays data. When I remove the direct where clause conditions to use parameter (because i will display the parameter as header information), it is giving me "Missing parameter values." Can someone help me. The code is below:
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim ConnectionString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("ConnectionString").ConnectionString
Dim conn As New OracleConnection(ConnectionString)
Dim MyDA As New OracleClient.OracleDataAdapter
Dim vacancyid As Integer = Request.QueryString("vacancyid")
Dim sql As String = ""
Dim cmd As New OracleCommand(sql, conn)
sql = "select a.VACANCY_ID,a.VAC_TITLE,a.PUBLISH_SDT,a.PUBLISH_EDT,a.MAX_SAL,b.OFFER_DT,b.SALARY "
sql = sql & " from vacancy a,offer_tbl b where a.COMPANY_ID=b.COMPANY_ID and a.VACANCY_ID=b.VACANCY_ID "
sql = sql & " and a.VACANCY_ID='" & vacancyid & "' and a.VAC_STATUS='F' order by VACANCY_ID"
cmd.CommandText = sql
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text
MyDA.SelectCommand = cmd
Dim myDS As New Vacancy_Test
MyDA.Fill(myDS, "DataTable1")
'====== Running the report directly with this statement works
' ''sql = "select a.VACANCY_ID,a.VAC_TITLE,a.PUBLISH_SDT,a.PUBLISH_EDT,a.MAX_SAL,b.OFFER_DT,b.SALARY "
' ''sql = sql & " from vacancy a,offer_tbl b where a.COMPANY_ID=b.COMPANY_ID and a.VACANCY_ID=b.VACANCY_ID "
' ''sql = sql & " and a.COMPANY_ID='1' and a.VACANCY_ID=1 and a.VAC_STATUS='F' "
' ''sql = sql & " order by VACANCY_ID"

{
ParameterValues currentParameterValues = new ParameterValues();
ParameterFieldDefinitions parameterFieldDefinitions = rptDocument.DataDefinition.ParameterFields;
for (int i = 0; i < parameterFieldDefinitions.Count; i++)

currentParameterValues = parameterFieldLocation.CurrentValues;
ParameterDiscreteValue parameterDiscreteValue = new ParameterDiscreteValue();
if (paramValue.Length - 1 >= i)

Hi,
I had written a webservice..which is working fine. This webservice will reside in server.
Now if I have make this webservice work for multiple servers.
Right now Iam adding a webrefernce to my application which is consuming webservice.
if this webservice has to be utilised globally..then what I have to do?
If I have to host the same webservice on different servers that leads to waste memory..since in all web methods in all the webservices have same logic and same datatype.
1.To make the same webservcie work on mutiple servers....
2. How add web refernce globally through programatically
3. If to make the webservcie work globally what are the paarameters I have to pass for them?.
4. what is best mechanism to check whether server running or down?
Kindly help me in achieving above
So kindly tell me wat is the best way..

My application is written in ASP VB.Net VS-2002.
Parser Error Message: The XML file c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\Config\machine.config could not be loaded. Attempted to access an unloaded AppDomain.
This is always after returning from :
-
myProcess = Process.Start(my.exe, sArguments)
Do While Not myProcess.HasExited
System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(10000) 'Every ten Seconds.
Loop
Or :
-
myProcess = Process.Start(my.exe, sArguments)
Do Until myProcess.WaitForExit(Timeout.Infinite)
' ....... code to write to log file.
Loop

For anyone else that might be experiencing this issue or something similar, the only way I was able to get around the process threading issue was to write my own HasCompleted vb routine looping for the existence of an end of process file.

with this code
<asp:ImageButton ImageUrl="~/Images/minimize.gif" runat="server" ID="ImageButton1" PostBackUrl="~/Help.aspx?help=help1" ImageAlign="AbsMiddle" OnClick="window.open(this.href,'popupwindow','width=850,height=700,scrollbars,resizable');return false;" /></li>

I think because PostBackUrl and OnClick are the same thing.

OK got rid of the error but have another problem now.
When I enter a URL it keeps putting a deafult pre address in it so lets say the file the above code is in is in folder1 well it does this on the url folder1/folder2/page.aspx instead of just folder2/page.aspx
why would this be?
thanks

I have a problem with mac and safari.
In windows and ie you can define for example word to open a document in the same window for editing.
But with Mac with Safari there is a problem.
If you have a file named: test.rtf in the root of your webservers default catalog, the only thing you have to do is create a href string like this "\\webserver\test.rtf" and configure windows explorer to open the rtf extension in the same windows as explorer.
If you use Safari insted of IE there is problems, but is'nt there any workaround for this problems?
Does anyone have experience of this things please reply.

I have a customvalidator for textbox' in a gridview. The problem is, it doesn't fire up. I did put a break point to validation method but it never catches. The code is working fine in a single page with a single textbox but not in a GridView Can you please tell me what's wrong? Here's my code:
<asp:Content>
<script language="c#" runat="server">
private void NumericControl(object sender, ServerValidateEventArgs args)
{
if (Tools.IsNumeric(args.Value))
args.IsValid = true;
else
args.IsValid = false;
}
</script>
<asp:GridView>
<Columns>
<asp:TemplateField>
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:TextBox ID="txtValue" runat="server" Width="50" /><br />
<asp:CustomValidator ControlToValidate="txtValue"
EnableClientScript="true"
ClientValidationFunction="NumericControl"
ErrorMessage="Not numeric"
OnServerValidate="NumericControl"
runat="server"
ValidationGroup="Kontor"
Display="Dynamic"
/>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
</Columns>
</asp:GridView>
</asp:Content>
|
|
|
|
|
Check if your button has CausesValidation = true and the ValidationGroup = "Kontor";
And Set the ValidationGroup="Kontor" for the TextBox
EG
<asp:textbox id="txtValue" runat="server" width="50" validationgroup="Kontor" xmlns:asp="#unknown" />
|
|
|
|
|
I did. I added ValidationGroup to textbox and ValidationGroup and CausesValidation to button. Nothing changed. Thanks for the advice though..
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Problem because the gridview is generated at runtime therefore control validate has to.. maybe
