The web.config file is usually just read once and the info cached so unless you actually change something in your web.config file I can't see this being an issue. Here is a link to MSDN that discusses .NET application performance tuning.

I wrote a Web application by ASP.NET and C#. I need to change date of my server behind about 1 year ago and after that changing date came back. For example, time is 30/09/2009 and when the program runs, time should be 30/09/2008 and after 3sec time comes back 30/09/2009.
I wrote this rule by ASP.NET and C# and that web application work correctly, but for 5 days, that code can't change date of server, although web application worked correctly and could change date by below codes.
Also these codes work and can change date of server when those are written as WIN application and don't return any error, and those are written as WEB application and run in Visual Studio 2008 don't return any error and works correctly, but when those codes are written as WEB application and run in ISS can't change date of server and return "error: 1314", so I be confused!!!
I will be very glad if somebody helps me.
Thank you very much.

I think you should read the rules here[^] and choose the one single forum that is most appropriate.

As Richard said, please read the forum guidelines.

The ASP.NET webpage runs in its own less privileged account which can not set system dates and hence you are getting that error message.

Just call the web service asynchronously. After call is made start calculating the time. Check with the elapsed time with the timeout. If its greater place the error and dispose the request object.
simple.

No i have to call it synchornsly

Synchronous means the current thread will be blocked until response is received from the server. If you are holding the current thread, you cant do the calculation.
But I think there is one wayout. You can load the page in an IFrame, and check if Iframe.document is loaded. This will give you an option to calculate the Time.
Hope you got the idea.

Yes why not. Just create an IFrame dynamically using Javascript.
var ifr = document.createElement('IFrame');
Load the document and show the response time.
Feel free to tell me if you cant solve this issue.

Use the following :
var win = window.open(....);
win.onload = function(){
win.document.title = 'My New Title';;
}
see if it works or not..
|
|
|
|
|
But I guess it will show the full url (including the file name) during page load. After load complete It will reset to 'My New Title'
