Try building project after disabling an anti-virus software. If its fast then you need to add your Project directory and all the Sub-Folders in it to the Exclusion/White List in your anti-virus, so it will not scan the folder when you rebuilt the project.
or try De-fragment on the HDD.
or its time to upgrade the PC

Hello Friends,
If i disable javascript in browser then my gridview's Select command is not working. So is it any way to work without javascript.

Hi,
since actions with nearly every ASP.NET control work by postback (which uses javascript) it seems impossible. But you could use a HTML-Button for each row to select, which will force a submit, but this will be really ugly...

Hi!
I have a Stored Procedure that groups information by date and calculate the amount of hours. On the Page_Load method I execute the Stored Procedure and then Display a GridView containing the Date and Total Hours.
The problem I am having is that I have added a button and when you click on it, it should get the value from the Date cell.
For example: If you click on the 20/01/2010 row then all the entries for that date should be displayed in another gridview.
Thanks for the help!

so on itemcommand or selectionchange event of gridview fire one query with date criteria and try to bind your second grid view by fetching data form the database
hope this will work for you

Hi,
Do you add a button in every row??
I think you can bind the data value to the button. Then you can do other things.

Hello.
I am working on a website. For now whenever I want to test it I would just run it from localhost using IIS. An error occurred after transferring the work to another laptop. Everything ran smoothly until came to the part where there is a need to update/insert data to the database. I got this error saying that I am not able to update the database because it is read-only.
Now the error only occurred when I ran the website from localhost using IIS. The process of updating/inserting when smoothly when I ran the website from Visual Studio.
I searched for every possible solution and found out several ones
1. Set the App_Data folder attribute to not 'Read-only'. - Done that but the folder automatically set back to 'Read-only' each and everytime.
2. Execute the following sql query
ALTER DATABASE bcancer SET READWRITE - Done that also but still the database is in read-only mode.
Can somebody help me out on this? Thank you very much for your attention.

I have followed this [^] and also posted on the asp.net AJAX forum but so far no one seems to know why it's not working for me.

<asp:Parameter DbType="DateTime" Name="dateInsert" />
<asp:Parameter Name="photoID" Type="Int32" />
</UpdateParameters>
</asp:SqlDataSource>
</ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>
As soon as I drop the item, it will automatically go back to its original position/order.
Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I wonder if it has anything to do with the updatepanel. I have seen that causes a few of my other project's functionality.

I'm just starting to get into database markup language (dbml) files in my projects but I'm curious as to if dbml is always the right approach...
So far, I'm really liking the dbml approach. Before using this, I usually called some classes within my data access layer which in turn called a stored procedure. The dbml file on the other hand, makes the process much cleaner.
My concern however, is what happens when I have a database with large amounts of data? For example, I currently have a news articles website. We currently have about 40,000 articles...and that number's rapidly rising. If I were to pull these articles via a dbml file, wouldn't the user (or more specifically, the web server carrying the user's info) have to carry around all that data? Every article's title, content, author, date created, etc? If we were to have 100 users on the site at the same time, wouldn't that really slow down the server (100 users x 40,000 article objects)?
Or am I not understanding how dbml files work?
Are there right & wrong times when to use & when not to use dbml files?
Thanks.

It is regarding my latest article, you have edited it, and made some important mistakes there... I have taken the HTML of your colored version and fixed it with the original meaning. Please contact me so I can send it to you, as there's no modify option for some reason, and there's no PM also so I can't contact you!
Thanks

I have never posted an article on codeproject, but I can feel the pain you are having. The fact that there is no modify option is quite annoying. The author should be able to modify his/her article!!!
I think you should report this as a bug to codeproject.
By the way, I like all your articles. I've been using your stuff ever since I found them. Thanks!

Thanks man!
You might want to check my latest article on ResolveUrl. (And if you are actually reading the introduction, replace the words "if" by "unless" in your head, because Smitha has replaced all of my "unless"es into "if"s...
