Nope. You can't. But you can change the style to hide it. AFAIK, hiding that Pane violates the Microsoft Office UI License of Ribbon Control.
All the best

I have created a dynamic table and i one of its td I want to give link for another table which is actually a html table created on aspx page.
for (int i = 0; i < dt.Rows.Count; i++)

TableRow trRow = new TableRow();
TableCell tdCell = new TableCell();
TableCell tdCell1 = new TableCell();
string user = dt.Rows[i]["username"].ToString();
tdCell.Text += "<td align='left'><a href='#' class='descriptiontext'>'" + dt.Rows[i]["username"].ToString() + "'</a></td>";
tdCell1.Text += "<td align='left'>'" + dt.Rows[0]["reason"].ToString() + "'</td>" ;
trRow.Controls.Add(tdCell);
trRow.Controls.Add(tdCell1);
RecipientTable.Controls.Add(trRow);
}
plcUserMessage.Controls.Add(RecipientTable);
}
}
public void FetchSenderMessage(string UserName)
{
string strSwapEmp, strSwapDate, strSwapReason;
DataTable dt = monthdetail.MessageFromEmp(UserName);
pnlRequestApproval.GroupingText = dt.Rows[0]["username"].ToString();
pnlRequestApproval.Controls.Add(tblAdmin);
strSwapEmp = dt.Rows[0]["swap_candidate"].ToString();
strSwapReason = dt.Rows[0]["swap_reason"].ToString();
strSwapDate = dt.Rows[0]["swapping_date"].ToString();
lblDate.Text = strSwapDate;
ddlUser.Text = strSwapEmp;
txtUReason.Text = strSwapReason;

<a href="#" onclick="javascript:return MyFunction();">Click Me</a>
Don't forget to return false from the MyFunction() to avoid postback(or default behaviour).
Is this the one you wanted?

I have a scneraio where I need to show the search results in a table. The headers consists of column span in more than one rows.
I will try to draw the basic layout here but the actual layout would be more complex than this.
<table >
<tr border=1>
<td colspan=2 border=1> Column1</td>
<td colspan=2 border=1> Column2 </td>
</tr>
<tr border=2>
<td border=1> Col11 </td>
<td border=1>col12</td>
<td border=1> col21</td>
<td border=1> col22</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td></td>
</tr>
</table>
The count of columns will be dynamic.
Now, I have two questions.
1. Please let me know if going for a gridview will be appropriate to do this?
2. The data that will be loaded could be huge. I cannot go for a paging approach. Please let me know if we can do a rendering whenever we have the data rather than waiting for full data to be buffered and then render at one shot. I am thinking about features such as response.flush
Please let me know any thoughts.
Thanks,
Afsal

Well, that's the answer for my first question and I am aware of this can be done with grid view. Can you please give your thoughts to my second question.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
In my case the column count is dynamic. Hence I cannot design a gridview in the aspx.

Hi guys,
i have a datagrid, i would like to get the value of one column
when user clicks on that row(item) so that i can show the details
of that row(item) on the next page. I have tried the below and
am not so sure how to proceed:
protected void available_ItemDataBound(object sender, DataGridItemEventArgs e)
{
foreach(DataGridColumn col in available.Columns)
{
if (e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem || e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item)
{
e.Item.Attributes.Add("onmouseover", "this.style.backgroundColor='#F9F9F9' this.style.cursor='pointer';");
e.Item.Attributes.Add("onmouseout", "this.style.backgroundColor='#ffffff';this.style.cursor='pointer';");
}
}
}
Does anyone know how i can manage to get the value of one column in tha
row that has been clicked?
Please help me
Regards

Assuming your DataGrid is bound to a DataView with a unique ID value for each row,
include a Hypelink in your DataGrid columns - say hypDetails, maybe within a template column -
then you can put in your ItemDatBound code:
DataRow dr = e.Item.DataItem.Row;
HyperLink hypDetails = CType(e.Item.FindControl("hypDetails"), HyperLink);
hypDetails.NavigateUrl = "details.aspx?id=" & CStr(dr("ID"));
This will pass the ID value of that row as a parameter to the next page (details.aspx)

Thanks alot man, i will give it a try just now.... but unfortunatly
'CType' does not exist in C# only VB...is there an alternative to this?

OMG I've been outed! I'm sure a little Googling will sort you out...
|
|
|
|

in c#....
HyperLink hypDetails = (HyperLink)e.Item.FindControl("hypDetails");

It means that your application user does not have necessary permission to open an excel instance. Open DCOM Config, and Grant Launch & Activation permisson, and Access permission to Microsoft Excel Application.
Or you can see this [http://forums.asp.net/t/1303594.aspx]
