Hello I have a Parent page and inside that parent page i have a child page
in the child page i check if a request.querystring value = not empty and if it is empty
then i have to response.redirect the whole page is parent page to the start up page.
if i use response.redirect it just load the start up page in the child iframe section.
Need help.

You can't use a redirect to change the parent page. When the request comes to the server, it's already decided where the page will be displayed.
Return a page that contains a Javascript that changes the location of the parent window.

b { font-weight: normal; }

that is a good little idea.
Thanks Mr Guffa.
I will try that.

how to display the live time in web form.
i want to display time continuously..
so help me for code....

If you want to show the time the page is rendered on the server: DateTime.Now; (in C#)
If you want to show the time passing second by second on the webpage you'll have to go javascript or something like that.
|
|
|
|
|
i want it in vb.net or send me javascript for it becoz i cant find it...

I know that JavaScript lets us add:
ondragenter, ondragover, ondragleave, ondrop
events to normal HTML table td tags. This lets us do highlighting of
table cells/rows, and capture drag & drop events. So to handle
ondrop we can use JavaScript:
this.OnDrop = function(obj) {
obj.parentElement.style.backgroundColor = "white";
var strData = window.event.dataTransfer.getData("text");
this.InsertRow(obj.parentElement.rowIndex, strData);
window.event.cancelBubble = true;
}
The obj is the object that was dropped onto. So obj.parentElement is
the tr element, etc. Does all tr elements implicitly have a rowIndex
member which contains the row number of the table?
What am wondering is how can one add the ondrop="" attribute to a
table which was generated from a DataGrid? If it is not possible
adding JavaScript/DOM attributes to DataGrid's generated tables, then
is there any way to capture these window.events and knowing exactly
which DataGrid table row/cell it was dragged onto?
I was told to look for "DataGrid Overviews" at 4guysfromrolla.com but
could not find anything about it. Not even google.com could help. Is
there no drag and dropping support for ASP.NET datasource tables?

Hi Nagraj,
You can use the same function to subtract the days. Just you have to pass the negative values. For example -1 to subtract one day.
Hope this will solve your problem.

hey guys,
I have another question.
the situation: we get a dynamic DataSet back from a server system. (DataSet ds = bla.getDS();)
the question: is there any way we can use the dynamic DS to generate a report.
From what I've seen it's not that easy to do. most use a DataSet object (xsd) so..
any help if possible?

Hai..
I use asp.net, i have 2 pages for the webpage, one is parent page and one is child page.When i click the link from the parent page, i need a pop up window for my child page to display the additional information. How i coding ( have sample code for me is better understanding) when i click the link from the parent page, the child page will automatically refresh and display the new information?
|
|
|
|
|
In code behind you can NOT open a popup window (reason: the code is run on the server so the popup window should open on the server, not on the client. So that's not what you want right)
Workaround: You can open a new window by using javascript's window.open('newPage.aspx'); You can control by javascript this window so can close it and re-open it again so the page is refreshed you could say...
Hope this helps you

The allowPaging property of the GridView is set to true
The Grid is being populated using a dataset and the pages 1,2,... can be seen at the bottom of the gridView.
But when the page 2 is clicked the error is:
"The GridView 'grid' fired event PageIndexChanging which wasn't handled."
What is the solution to this please?
Thanks

You have to create an event handler in you code behind to handle gridview_pageIndexChanging.
