i have in @page directive assign master page . how do I override this at run time?
|
|
|

Page object raised event called "PreInit" and this event call the method "OnPreInit()", so in any places you can set it.
protected void Page_PreInit(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
}
protected void Page_PreInit(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
this.MasterPageFile = "/Site.master";
}

By the looks of it, I would say that you are trying to execute InsertData stored procedure from your application, but failed to supply(as the error indicates) a value for @Address parameter. It would be better if you edit your question and post the relevant code so we can provide a better answer, in case this does not help.
Edit: To the bronze univoters, it would be better if you state your reasons of downvoting the answer.
Signature construction in progress. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello, I'm trying to use the Telerik grid control. I've followed the demo listed here. I've implemented the code in a very similar fashion with a few changes due to some "quirks". The ID of my checkbox header column is "checkAllMovies"
I've spent most of the day getting it working. I'm now stuck on the part where I want it to select all check boxes. There's a bit of code at the bottom of my "view" file within my form:
@Html.Telerik().ScriptRegistrar().OnDocumentReady(
@<text>
$('#checkAllMovies').click(function checkAll()
{
$("#Grid tbody input:checkbox").attr("checked", this.checked);
});
</text>);
This doesn't seem to work/do anything. I'm new to the Telerik MVC controls (Open source).
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I am new to working with a C#.asp.net web forms applications. I have expereince stepping through code in C#.net 2008 desktop application. Thus I would like to be able to step through all the code in this application. Thus far I have been able to step through code in aspx.cs and aspx files
However, would like to know how to step through code in .js, html, css, and other types of files. If this is not possible, can you tell me or point me to references (urls) that will tell me how to debug these other types of files?
|
|
|
|
|
You can surely debug the code from .js file. But for that you need to enable the script debugging option from the browser. Follow these steps to enable the script debugging.
IE
Tools->Internet Options…->Advanced->Disable Script Debugging : Uncheck this box
Hope this helps.
All the best.
I quit being afraid when my first venture failed and the sky didn't fall down.

for java script you can use the debugger keyword.
i.e. debugger:
for CSS and HTML you can check with number of add on from IE and FF (Mozilla). they are very help full to check the CSS and HTML of your page. if you don't know about add on, just search in google. you will get everything.

I have a standards/best practices question for ASP.NET webforms.
I'm making a new website that may draw tables onto the page showing reports (depending on user inputs). The style for these tables is in my CSS file.
I want to have the header row of a table that I create in the code-behind have a special style, and I can do that by putting style information in the code-behind (with the TableRow.Style.Add() method), but I'd rather pull the information from the CSS file so I only have one place to maintain style elements at.
Is there a standard way of doing this?
|
|
|
|
|
Can't you assign CSS classes in the code-behind as well? Instead of tr.Style.Add("font-family", "Verdana") or whatever, you say tr.CssClass = "mySpecialRowStyle"...
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks a lot; I knew there had to be something simple like that.

Yeah - The use of CssClass as a habit ends up avoiding a ton of headaches - especially as you get into enterprise sized projects with multi-level theming/css..
|
|
|
|
|
"as a habit" is an understatement - if you dont stick to only cssclass and try to integrate with ANY other (non .net) code or systems, this will be a nightmare. So, jkeelerz - I couldnt agree more: as a RULE for me though

I have a website under development, and I want to create two versions: one with rich content and a pretty layout for standard web browsers, and a trimmed down, cleaner version well suited for mobile browsers. My searches have led to many different approaches and I'm not sure which would be the best approach. Should I go with the same pages and different style sheets using the media tag? Separate subdomains for www and mobile ? If I go subdomain, should I have completely separate sites or is there a best practice for using the same content (child pages or some kind of include file) across the subdomains?
I would like to hear from other coders who have dealt with the issue.
Clarification: My project is a plain, vanilla website with text, pictures, menus and the occasional data form. No web apps, no videos (at least not yet), no Flash, no Silverlight.

We have, in the past, styled the content with the media tag, but ultimately this didn't prove to be enough. While you could get the styling reasonably well, we came to realise that not all the content was suited to the different resolutions; so we put in place a system where the same request could serve up content from two locations - 1 for mobile and 1 for full. Combined with the different stylesheets and it became a lot easier to roll out content.

I don't suppose you have any links that detail the technique? And is it something that could be implemented from a hosted service? I won't have access to the machines, and cannot control what software will be available.

I don't. It's just something that we built into our CMS - which we host.

Hi,
I was using visual studio 2005 before. Now I am using visual studio 2008. I got some problem with the loop execution. Well the project with the loop statements was working fine before but now in visual studio 2008, loop is not executing.
I have a loop on a button click and only the loop is not even working. The piece of code i have on my button click is
protected void btnArchieve_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
for (int i = 0; i < gViewIndividualNames.Rows.Count; i++)
{
}
}
I put the breakpoints in all the lines but I even checked my count value. Its 2 but still this loop is executing only once.
Any ideas?

Without seeing what's in the for loop itself, no. If, however, there's a line in there that's incrementing i (e.g. i++ ), then that would explain it. Merely changing from VS2005 to VS2008 does not, by itself, change the fundamental nature of program applications.
If I were you, I'd put a local watch on i and see what's happening to it as you step through the loop.
