I have an application folder in my website which is m.mydomain.com
I don't want to use a separate web.config for the m folder.
is it possible to refer the m folder to use the same web.config in root?

In fact if you don't provide separate web.config at each folder in your website it will continue to use the web.config of root level.
the folder level web.config is only required when we want some special configuration in any folder otherwise the root web.config should be fine.

I am working on a web application in visual studio 2008 and have come accross a problem where in i am not able to get the column index of the selected cell. the properties like CurrentCell or SelectedCell are not present.kindly assist me in this regard.

Try this:
private void UsersDataGrid_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
LabelInfo.Text = UsersDataGrid.SelectedItem.Cells[1].Text;
}
Refer the links below:
MSDN : DataGrid.SelectedIndex Property [^]

|
Workout on SelectedIndexChanged Event of Gridview, and pick up the SelectedIndex in that Event.

We have a web page designed to be embedded in an iFrame on a different host web site.
The session timeout in web.config for the iFrame page is 20 minutes.
In our testing, the iFrame page times out as expected in various browsers like IE, Chrome, Safari and with IE8/XP and IE9/Win7.
A customer with a classic asp site has embedded our web page in an iFrame on their site. OUr iFrame web page refuses to time out for them except for certain browsers. THey feel they have narrowed it down to IE in Win7 and Vista. It works otherwise.
Any idea why this might be happening? The customer indicates they aren't doing anything to refresh the page and it seems to only happen with IE.
Thanks in advance, Dan

INNER JOIN Table2 t2 ON t1.Column = t2.Column

I have a page with a few validation controls and a ValidationSummary control. Most of the validation controls are RequiredFieldValidator controls and the summary control displays these messages just fine.
I do have a RegularExpressionValidator that checks for the format of an email address. If the address isn't entered correctly my error message from this control isn't being displayed by my summary control.
I know the problem isn't with my regular expression as I can display the error message by the regex control if I change the Display setting.
ValidationSummary doesn't just work with RequiredFieldValidator does it? That would be less than helpful.
My code :
<asp:ValidationSummary ID="ValidationSummary1" ValidationGroup="Test" HeaderText="You must enter a value in the following fields:"
DisplayMode="BulletList" EnableClientScript="False" runat="server" />
<asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="RegularExpressionValidator1" runat="server" ValidationGroup="Test" ControlToValidate="txtReqDuration"
ErrorMessage="Enter a valid number" Display="None" ValidationExpression="^([\d]{0,2})$"></asp:RegularExpressionValidator>
Thanks.

Hi,
Set the DisplayMode="Dynamic" and remove EnableClientScript attribute from your ValidationSummary .

I want to create a Word document with dynamic graphs (OpenFlashChart which is a third party control) on the asp.net page.
Is it possible to do it in asp.net.ON bank sites, i have seen different graphs get generated for each quarter in a word document.

I am using Intelligencia.UrlRewriter to rewite URLs, it works fine with root folder but with my sub folder /r it it doesn't work.. here is an example:
this is for my root about.aspx:
<rewrite url="~/about" to="~/about.aspx" />
and that's working perfect..
and here is my about.aspx in my arabic folder /ar/about.aspx:
<rewrite url="~/ar/about" to="~/ar/about.aspx" />
and when i try www.rmc.bh/ar/about it should go to www.rmc.bh/ar/about.aspx but it's actually going to www.rmc.bh/about.aspx
where is the problem?
|
|
|
|
|
url part is handled as regualar expression. Try to set explicit boundaries for it using ^ and $ characters:
<rewrite url="^~/about$" to "~/about.aspx" />
<rewrite url="^~/ar/about$" to "~/ar/about.aspx" />

Is google not working where you are today?
url rewrite[^]
got me 4.4 million results and looks like a great way to find reliable information.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.
