Does such a thing exist in Java? For example, I can always do something like:AJSDate startDate = new AJSDate("20090811");but I would rather have it as:AJSDate startDate = "20090811";

Assuming that you know how to do this conversion (in mathematical terms) then any of the modern programming languages will work. It all depends on what your experience is.

You'll never get any satisfactory answers because your question is so vague that nobody will be able to reply.You need to cut your problem into pieces and ask specific questions. What have you already done ? It seems nothing because you didn't even choose a language.First thing to do is...

Given:int a = 1;int b = 2; You can do this:a = a + b;b = a - b;a = a - b; or this: b = a ^ b;a = b ^ a;b = a ^ b; or just use the std:swap method.

There isn't an error at compile time because a derived class of B can also have implemented interface A. The compiler doesn't check that but if you would test it and pass a class D for example that implements A but is not a descendant of B, you would get an error.Good luck!
