Sorry, but I can't see my post, or your reply to it, so I'll reply to your first post.

By notepad, do you mean Notepad.exe or pad of paper?
I can't stand Notepad.exe because it does not support Ctrl-H for replace or Ctrl-F3 for find next. Wordpad also does not work as nicely as I'd like. I'm considering using MSDEV as my text editor too, but for the moment I'm using a free little program that does syntax colouring (when I view source of an html file and so on), and also supports the common key shortcuts.

Yes I mean Notepad.exe
It never crashes it loads fast.
Sure it lacks shortcuts and can't handle lots of text.
But it works.

You can add these yourself using VC++ resource editor. I also added Ctrl+S for save etc.

Heck, you could write your own Notepad using not much more than Visual's editor, ClassWizard, and a few lines of your own code here and there...

Um...that's a standard feature now.

That's a good idea. I never thought to change keyboard shortcuts using the resource editor.

I've taken to scribbling on my whiteboard and then taking a digital pic of it.
That's my documentation done!
