The two CI products I use most are Travis & AppVeyor, for open source projects - shame to see AppVeyor not represented...

I'd wager those without much CI experience or build servers / processes have only worked on small teams.

I never said a single dev couldn't make use of it. I said I'd wager most that haven't used it have worked in small teams, and thus not always exposed to new things as frequent or need have a real need for a streamlined process if you want to get really down to the nitty gritty of it. Anyway, relax bro. This question isn't *that* important in the grand scheme of things in life, to get this frustrated over.

Not a wager I would take! I would go even further not only small teams but small projects as well. a typical project for us is 3-6 months from requirements to final handover to the support team. I build to UAT in about 5 minutes using clickonce and production does not take much longer.
They don't let me near the production deployment.

Guys. Seriously. Read my message. Never once did I say CI was a bad thing.
Some folks just love to argue apparently

Excuse me, but exactly what makefiles and pre-compile, pre-build and post-build operations do differently? And why would someone build the entire freaking system any time? We're way past statically included libraries and objects so unless using crap-loaded and monkey-designed frameworks there should be no real need to build every component every time.
