4 weeks standard, 1 week negotiated (slightly less salary than I wanted so extra weeks leave in lieu), 1 week long service (after 6 years)
PLUS 7 public holidays (and two more - NZ day & ANZAC day if they fall on a weekday.
Unlimited sick leave (within reason) and unlimited "domestic" leave - again within reason. For instance my old Mum fell ill at the end of Jan and was in hospital until late March when she died and during that time I only worked at best 2 to 3 days a week. In fact I was told to take as much time as I wanted and why was I coming into work...

Day before major Jewish holidays - 5-8 (may sometimes fall on a weekend)
National holidays - 6-9 (may sometimes fall on a weekend)
Sick leave - 18, may be accumulated with no limit

I negotiated that in when I started. Told them I wouldn't consider going back to two weeks (standard for US, which I think is slowly changing).
Most US companies have some variant of two weeks til 5 years of employment, 3 weeks thru 10, then four weeks after that. More progressive companies do better, hence why I think it's slowly changing.
My experience is that US companies will have some kind of carryover program, where you're allowed to carry X time year-to-year, with a max accumulation of Y hours, then you don't accrue any more. They'll frame that as "we really want our employees to take time off," but in reality it's "we want to get that obligation off our books."
With the new year, we're moving to a PTO system, where sick and vacation are just lumped together. For people fortunate enough to be in good health, effectively gaining another week.
I'll be interested to see how that works. It's already pretty sparse around here many year-ends, with people using up time off before losing it. Adding a week to the amount, but not changing the carryover policy, seems as if it's only going to exacerbate that issue.

I'm a self-employed consultant to a larger contractor who contracts to the US Air Force. I can bill 2000 hours per year, which basically equates to an 8 hour day every day except for federal holidays (which are unpaid for me). So I basically try to work 9 or 10 hours per day to build up comp time that covers my vacations and other time off. It's a plan that's been working great for 10 years.

When I was working full-time some 2+ years ago, I was up to 22 days of paid vacation per year, plus a dozen holidays. Then came the layoff and bouts of contract work between bouts of unemployment. My first contract gig was 8 months and I got two paid days off. I'm with a different outfit now, and there's nothing. Hoping this contract will blend nicely into a permanent gig.

There are 10 paid holidays and you are expected to take at least 4 weeks vacation but can take as much as you want with advance approval.

Be careful - this is often a scam so HR doesn't have to have vacation time formally on the books, so they don't have to pay you for accumulated vacation time if you quit or are laid off.
Of course I can't speak of this particular companies practice, but it is something to watch out for in general.

I have 25 days + all the major holidays guaranteed by law to everyone...
And it is pretty much...As my contract is for four days a week I can take 8 days off for a full 14 days vacation...If I couple it with one of the holidays I can get easily a four week off by taking only 10 days officially...

No. I answered 4+ as I was dividing 25 by 7...
But that's only the days I have to take off from my employee. I also have holidays by law...So actually I'm off for 8 to 10 weeks a year...

Why are so many companies see vacations as a bad thing?
How are you able to recharge your batteries if you have just the weekend?
After 2-3 weeks of hollidays you will come back with full batteries and more motivation than before. Many developers that love their job will read technical books and try new techniques that will result in new ideas and options for the business.
I'm happy to live in a country where 6 weeks + is standard. Hope all others find a chance to say no to bad enviroments. Just beeing present does not mean that this is effective or effecient.

I get 5 weeks for both of them to allocate however I want. Normally I plan about 3.5 weeks of vacation, half a week for 'stuff', and a week for being sick. Mostly as a result of success with the Don't Get Sick Plan (best health plan in the world if you can pull it off; no doctors bills, no waits for service, no lost time from work), combined with a policy of paying out unused leave when you leave the company; I've got a few weeks of extra leave accumulated. If I get laid off, it's extra severance. If I end up seriously sick/injured its a few more weeks I can avoid the 40% paycut of short term disability. 
Although you don't want them to be counted, I've got 10 paid holidays too which means I get most of the ones that Congress voted for itself that a lot of private employers pretend don't exist.

Technically zero but if you count up all the non productive things I do in a year it must add up to some time off. 
I was lazing about in on the front office (our little mahogany row) love seat talking to my wife and partner in business about this very thing. As our Labrador chews a toy at my feet. I muss about the money we could demand and real vacations we could have if we had real jobs in the city.
We always conclude that we couldn't be sitting around yip yapping like we do and still be in the good graces of our employer.
So autonomy is deemed priceless yet again,
and I go back to "work".
