Just got a new machine a couple of months back however it will probably not be usable for another couple of months as it is the first 64bit os to be subject to their corporate policies. I have an outstanding ticket (5 weeks) for them to transfer my local admin rights. Ahh the joys of corporate developing...

Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

I don't use it to program so much as before but I continue using it daily basis. It is my only machine at home. My wife has her own laptop too, getting close the 10 years right now, used in daily basis as well.
For those who think
I am not one of the "I need to posses the last of the last" guy. As long as something works fine... it is OK for me. I prefer to use my money in other things that I consider more important.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

The actual box, the power supply, some of the fans, most of the cables are with me for more than 5 years...But I'm constantly replacing parts...
But! the OS is the same (Fedora) with all the updates (I think I started with 15 and now it is 23) and most of the VM's are the same, and I also have an older VM of XP, that came from a totally different computer...
So the body is changing, but the soul remains the same...

Hows-about "what's the oldest computer you have access to?"
My work laptop is maybe a year-and-a-half old, I'm not sure. So I answered based on that. But the VMs for the databases are older than that; do VMs age?

My first beloved computer is on my desk. The "Oldie but Goldie" is programmable in Basic and more than 20 years old.
