Don't get me wrong: if you prefer reading a book, it can help you a lot. Let's see if other members recommend you some.
This is not the main thing. The main thing is prerequisites: you should know the language and basics of the .NET platform very well, especially OOP. And, the most painful point: too many beginners have no idea how Web and HTTP work. You need to understand it very well; what happens on client and server side, how HTTP request and HTTP response, HTTP headers, sessions work, etc.
