word suggestion algorithm

hello everyone,

i want to make a program that can suggest a word base on our input.i dont know how to explain more about it. But for example, i want to spell "battery" but i put "bettcry" as the input. Anyone can help or have an ideas?

If you're looking for database algorithm to "catch" bad inputs, see SIMIL[^] slgorithm.

Solution 1

The quality of the proposed words highly depends on the algorithm you choose. One very straightforward is SOUNDEX[^]. Not sure if that's suitable to your needs, but have a look
