I've since found out more about it.
The display lacks a controller as a cost saving measure. The pins connect directly to the display *panel* itself, in this case an e-paper display. Ergo, it does not use SPI or anything sane, really.
The I2S is strictly used (as I understand it) to allow precise timing and DMA for transferring data over the 8 parallel pins. It's using the I2S hardware in the ESP32 to drive 8 data pins (and there are some control pins too)

So I have an older Samsung Galaxy A7 tablet, that I plan to give to my 7 year old granddaughter, since she spends a lot of her spare time playing Minecraft on it, which means I don't have the device for developing my Android apps. Grandfather's solution: Buy a Galaxy A8 for development purposes, since they are not terribly expensive. I just cannot deprive her of access to Minecraft.
And it arrived early this morning. I anxiously set it up, including the Developer Mode settings so I can connect it via wifi to my desktop where I am running Android Studio. The idea is to transfer the app under development from the desktop to the tablet via wifi for testing / debugging purposes.
I set up connection via wifi on the desktop successfully, or so I thought. Although the desktop confirmed a successful connection and Android Studio confirmed the app under development transferred correctly to the tablet. Nothing happened on the tablet. The app did not run!
I must have struggled for almost an hour, trying every conceivable combination of Developer Mode settings on the tablet. Getting close to tears, it suddenly dawned on me: Idiot! you are using the old tablet's IP address! That tablet was on a table behind me with its screen covered and I never saw the app running on that device!
Once I fixed the IP, everything worked like a charm!

If it's any consolation, a long time ago my PM called from on-site to report a problem, so I fixed it and he drove the 400 miles to collect the new EPROM, then drove back to site to install it only to find the problem was still there.
I'd programmed it with the old version, not the new ...
He wasn't very polite to me about it.

I'm trying to use Windows Installer Projects to create a proper installer for CodeProject SenseAI Server and the various tutorials tell you to set some properties in the properties window for the project.
I right click on the project and select Properties and the window that comes up is nothing like the window in the documentation.
Then I finally realize they mean the OTHER Property window, the one you get by selecting the project and pressing F4.
Really??!!
I guess naming is hard even, for the Microsofties.

I leave it up to remind myself there are occasional brown-outs in my perfection; besides, I like the taste of humble pie I make myself. Quote: Why not ask the author of this recent project a question on the site ? That might help narrow down the scope of the problem. If the problem is not specific to this type of app, but, is, perhaps, a more general installer issue, try posting a detailed question on the appropriate QA forums.

Chris and I are the authors.
The statement was not about anything with the SenseAI project, rather the ambiguity in the names used for different views available in Visual Studio. Once I figured out that there are two different Property Views for a Project in Visual Studio, I was able to do what I needed and follow the examples.

It is a given that men don't understand women. Having said that, there is one thing that I find to be particularly puzzling.
Is the emphasis most women place on their appearance, and yes, I understand that it is a generalization, and as such, subject to exceptions.
However, I just don't get the emphasis placed on hair, makeup, clothes, and God help me, shoes, seem to be at the top of the list. Also, living space, interior and exterior, and cars.
I really don't get it. And when SWMBO starts to place those requirements on me the bickering starts. I always lose, since it is easier to give in.
Maybe some of you ladies in the lounge can reply and explain it to me.

IOW, she's not your trophy wife; you're her trophy husband.

I am a fashion crime when my wife doesn't "dress" me. My opinion - if it fits and is appropriate for the weather then I'm good to go.

You don't even want to know. And don't get me started on how women think... How they expect you to know everything about everything!

If you have enough of these, it makes you as attractive to them as a pile of poo is for a housefly.

That's where you lost me.
In my experience, a lot of women - even those who put a lot of emphasis on their own appearance - have little respect for their car and for them it's just a means to get from point A to point B and odds are, the inside is a pig's sty. Men, OTOH, tend to treat their cars like women treat themselves in the way you describe.
Of course, as with all generalizations, YMMV.

So, you prefer your women to look like cave beasts?
because, I sure as hell don't!!
I am super glad that most women care how they look to others even if their maintenance can be annoying at times. I am glad my wife cares how she looks and feels.
As for me. I look like a slob around the house most of the time, but when I leave the house, I make sure my appearance complements my better half.

If women did their partner maintenance with the same loving care and concern as they, say, brush the fur of their cats, I would welcome it.
My experience is that it rather is done with an endless streams of moans and deep sighs, and rather harsh verbal outbreaks about not having a clue, being totally ignorant, hopeless and whatever derogatory remark comes to her mind. I never heard a woman making statements when giving their cat a brush up similar to what they do when giving their male partner a brush up.

sigh - looking at shoes all over the house. Cowboy boots bought and worn twice (maybe) sitting in the closet, etc.
SWMBO works on her feet a lot, so I don't begrudge her new, good working shoes, but can't we get rid of the old ones?
Like you, a couple of years ago, I "allowed" her to buy me nice clothes. Mind you, this is before the COVID, work from home lockdown... these days working from home, I might get out of my lounge pants, but only if I need to go to the store. I now have a pair of jeans that don't fit right (but look nice), shoes that make my feet sweat (but look nice), etc. All I need is a pair of good jeans, some work shorts, work boots and trail shoes, and I'm good. Well, these days when it gets cold, I need a warm hat.
