This is an issue for me as well. I lost my right eye last year after a fall. My left has problems with contrast, especially with small light items against a dark background. I've had to set my mouse cursors much larger than the default in addition to setting the color.
My only grief at this point is using 'normal' machines at work. I've had to ask people to find the mouse cursor for me when I lost it   .

I've more-or-less lost the benefit of multiple monitors, at least when they're 22" or smaller which is what I have at work.
At home I replaced my 20" with a 24", and that's worked pretty well.

If you have PowerToys installed, tapping Control key twice puts a handy little temporary spotlight around the cursor. I tap once to get the sonar rings, or twice for the spotlight -- very handy for my old eyes

Green, because green is the colour which tends to be the most visible to the human eye at the lowest intensity (which is why electronic night vision tends to be green meaning a lower battery usage than red which is a colour that helps to preserve night vision).

Never asked, but may explain all the IBM 3270 "green" VDT's and the original PC green monitor.
I went for an "amber" display at one time ... and still have it. And the PC.

I don't know how long it's been there, but Windows 10 has an "Inverted" option for the mouse pointer color. What it does is show the pointer as the inverted color of whatever is below it. I find that's the best for me because a white pointer never hides on white backgrounds; ditto for black backgrounds.

I've been setting my mouse to "inverted extra large" for years. "Inverted" so it's opposite to whatever color it is over, and "extra large" makes it even more obvious.

On my work computer, I prefer the unobtrusive plain white standard cursor. On my home computer, which is also connected with my tele on the other side of the room, I use red bc it's easier to spot when sitting far away from the screen.

This is true. I have a friend who used to make ginger ale and root beer and sell it at festivals. He mentioned the recipes are virtually the same. The main differences are root beer has a bit more vanilla and has caramel for coloring.

I think you will find "Root beer" is very much a north american thing, certainly not in Oz.

My display code is too fast for my displays.
Worse, it's only too fast for some displays. And not some models of displays, but certain specific displays are okay. Like, I have two ILI9341s and the one that is soldered together works with my optimizations and the one that is wired on a breadboard only works when they are disabled.
*sigh*
All that work only to help it fail. TFT_eSPI manages so Bodmer must be sticking delays in his code somewhere. What a zoo.
Oh well, at least I'll be occupied today.
