I personally don't like her singing (I don't like country music in general), but I have to admit that she's a better choice for a magazine cover than Elon Musk.

Finally Windows 11 is available to my desktop PC! 
It already worked quite well on my tablet, almost doubling battery life. So I am quite keen!
Might wait tonight though.. with all the zoom call going this week, workday my not be the best time..

I normally take the plunge with a clean, usually new, computer.
Upgrades usually leaves me less than impressed.

I think the upgrade is free. I'm not ready to pay for a new OS when I have a perfectly good one.

I'm thinking about all problems that you might or might not get with updated programs and settings and such.
From experience, I prefer a clean slate for new major versions.

I do too. I just don't want to spend the money on Win11. It's not even that I can't afford it. It's the principle. I bought Win10 (again) back in january when i bought my machine. At this point it just seems like throwing good money after bad if I make that purchase.

I always get the license with my hardware.
So I guess you're using a VM.
In that case you could probably make a copy of the VM that you can upgrade, then create a new VM and move that license to it.
Would have to check the license agreement to make sure though.

No, I got it with my hardware. I consider that buying it, particularly since I had the option of No operating system, or linux or windows pro (each for different $$$ - well linux was free) when I purchased the system.

There are some points that might not affect you.
But the good news is that there's a clean install option when upgrading.

Oh, that's good to know. The issue for me then is losing all my stuff. Although I keep my Documents/Photos/Videos/Music mapped to my D: drive so at least I won't lose that.
Still, moving an OS is a huge amount of work. I think I'll wait for 11 to mature some.

I wouldn't need a backup of my drive so much as something that keeps all my programs and stuff installed. It's not going to happen. That means at least a day of rebuilding my environment.
