I first remember the term "app" used in reference to cell phone programs. At first they were simple applications that were essentially a shortcut for certain tasks. Not being a large formal application with an extensive UI, they were an "app". Then as cell phones became more mainline and their associated apps more extensive the term migrated to mean any program on any device.
As for developer, I've heard that term used interchangeably with programmer pretty much since I started as a programmer in 1981.
But, if anyone asked what I did for a living, I elevated my nose and said, "I am a software engineer. And, Ah'm going to play the graahnd piaaaahno."

(Software) Developer sounds better than programmer after a certain age when they ask you what you do. Like Sanitation Engineer.

I see there's a lot of versions, and the variants names are very confusing.
Which is the latest, good one that I can under $2000.
My requirements:
1. 256GB+ Disk
2. intel 11th gen or Ryzen equivalent
3. 16GB Ram
4. Stylus
5. 13/14" display
6. Max 3.5lbs

Like I mentioned before I got the greenlight to use a WROVER and my GFX library in a commercial product I am working on, since the end client wanted all the screens moved from landscape to portrait anyway, meaning all the graphics have to be redone.
The new library has changed the game for me though. It's like stepping into civilization after being lost in the wilderness.
Me to my client (with the old graphics lib): Where does the end client want this text placed on the screen?
Me to my client (with the new graphics lib): I want the company's branding package, preferably in digital media - company colors, fonts, logos.
It's an entirely different playing field. I went from struggling to place junky fonts pixel perfect to wondering if I have the flash space to hold all the digital assets/content I can now display. It's a good problem to have.

Does anyone have reliable information/links as to when Azure development (i.e. Azure Functions, app services, etc.) can be done based on .NET 6?
Yes, I did a search, and no, I did not find anything definitive. It could be too soon, or maybe my search pattern needs improvement.
