Should've done this ages ago...
I'm in a shared office, but for the past few months I've been by myself more and more often, mostly three days a week now.
I used to listen to music through my headphones, then my laptop speaker, and now... Through my brand new Creative Pebble v3 speakers 
The sound is surprisingly good for its price (and really just good overall): Creative Pebble V3 Minimalistic 2.0 USB-C Speakers with Bluetooth® 5.0 - Creative Labs (United States)[^]
Got the idea from someone else in the building who was blasting music so loud I could hear it all the way across the hall (in length) 
Haven't been a fan of Creative since I bought a soundcard with 7.1 surround speakers back when that cost me months of salary (I delivered morning newspapers).
All was well and then Windows Vista came along (yes, that long ago) and Creative didn't update its drivers and I could basically throw away months of salary (my music never sounded that good again) 
In their defense, they weren't the only manufacturer with driver problems back then...
This Pebble thing is a cheap plug 'n play device, can't go wrong really

Vista came out about 14 years ago, I already had the hardware back then, so let's say I bought that 15 years ago.
I was 18 at the time, so yeah, quite a bit more than 1/3 of my life
Since then, I went to university, had my first "serious" relationship (and a few more after that), had my first real job (and again, a few more after that), started programming, bought my own house, started my own business...
Heck, this isn't just "almost half of my life", it's "a lifetime" ago!

Greetings Kind Regards I am unable to work w/ any distractions even music but if I could I would purchase proper speakers perhaps headphones For quality sound I wouldn't dream of spending less than five-hundred smackaroonies preferably one-thousand I'm a bit of an audiophile My current setup includes the Jadis Orchestra Black Integrated Amplifier costing a great many smackaroonies Happy Listening to you if that is possible via a $30.95 unit May I inquire what kind of music you prefer during work Maybe Mozart is a good idea Isn't he recommended for those yet to be born Maybe JS Bach Bach is somewhat intellectual I can't imagine work during a Rolling Stones concert

The sound quality is indeed superior, but it can give me a splitting headache.
I have a lot of headaches, especially in weekends, but the headphone-headache is unique in that it feels like my skull is going to shatter.
So I prefer regular speakers.

More expensive != better quality.
You often pay for the brand and such, although a much more expensive set is probably better than a cheaper set.
That said, I prefer my €30 Creative over my €100 Bose, the Creative really is surprisingly good.
It beats listening to my laptop and my phone and at a certain point I can't hear the difference anymore anyway.
Of course the €30 set lacks some depth and range, especially a subwoofer, which it doesn't have, but good enough for the office.
Also, good speakers can only make good music sound better, it won't make bad music sound good and it won't do much if your sound files are of low quality (e.g. a 128 kbit MP3 file).
Besides, it's only for some background music at work, not like I'm hosting a music event

Mozart not really, Bach sometimes.
I like classical music, but the constantly changing dynamics can make me pretty crazy... One moment I can't hear the pianissimo and another moment my ears are bleeding from the fortissimo!
So for those moments when I have ambient sounds or I can't put the volume up, like in the car, when I go to sleep, or in the office, I prefer something a bit more constant, like pretty much anything else.
If you've ever read the Sound of the Week[^] you'd know what I listen to, it goes from black and death metal to dance and trance to classical

Greetings Thank you for your informative reply As for paying for brands I rely on the reviews by "Absolute Sound" As for Bose I wouldn't dream of purchase same as they are mass market and I turn my nose up on such I am sure "Absolute Sound" never reviewed them I am not sure what "death" or "black metal" are though I do enjoy angry guitars and Black Sabbath Perhaps they are "black metal" I am not happy the theme to the Tom Cruise Mission Impossible films did not utilize angry guitars as it was a conventional sounding re-orchestration unfit more modern times and "trance" is new to me I am also unfamiliar with "dance" though it sounds interesting Perhaps I will hear into it As for file quality you of course know there are high quality sources As for background music permit me to say I find MUZAK absolutely intolerable I find it a distraction and upsetting I refer to it as "mashed potato music" i.e. nothing to sink your teeth into In a previous time I did listen to radio while working but under the advice of Marylin vos Savant I desisted Yes the LOTR music you posted was pleasant I am sorry you suffer from headaches - Kind Regards Cheerio

What's wrong with mass market?
Bose made the best, sold a lot, and now have money for even better stuff, R&D, etc.
Well, in theory.
It may also be a case of you pay for the brand because they had the best marketing
Black Sabbath certainly isn't black metal, although it's been a huge influence on it (and on all metal genres, specifically doom metal).
Black metal is more raw and extreme, traditionally lo-fi and dealing with topics such as Satanism, death and misantrophy.
Mayhem's 1994 De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is still considered to be one of the best, and the prototypical, black metal album ever: Mayhem - Freezing Moon[^]
Of course black metal evolved and there are now plenty of sub genres.
One of my favorite black metal band of the past seven years or so is Oranssi Pazuzu, who play a more psychedelic kind of black metal: Oranssi Pazuzu - Uusi teknokratia[^]
The same goes for death metal, the two are closely related.
Just compare Morbid Angel's classic God of Emptiness[^] to the latest release of At The Gates[^].
Both are death metal, but they sound pretty different (to the trained ear at least, most people can't get past their expectation of metal being a wall of noise).
When talking about "dance" I mean the electronic kind.
Just turn on a popular radio channel and you'll hear some dance music, at least in Europe, artists like Avicii (RIP), Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa...
Again, lots of different kinds of dance music.
In fact, trance is a sub genre of dance, since you dance to trance.
Other sub genres include drum n bass, (deep) house, techno... (and I listen to most of them, though not as much as I listen to metal).

I can certainly get into it though! 
I make it kind of a thing to know and listen to many different genres of music.
As said, I also enjoy classical music, mostly the baroque and romantic periods though, especially the national romantic period with composers such as Grieg, Dvořák and Sibelius, love the traditional folk influence.

As for Mayhem all I can say is "Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman" I left a comment I'm glad the video which followed cleared my palette I can't believe a person can work w/ that playing You must have excellent powers of concentration I confess I am in the "wall of noise" camp I like toe tapping music and do not enjoy when a "singer" is constantly clearing his throat I believe I will stick w/ Black Sabbath
