Same here. Ocasionally a Lappie that leaves the docking station to do things in other room.

Yes, but it should actually be the same effects as connecting two or four pcs to the lan ports.
Connecting the WiFi per se, without devices using it should actually be as a free slot in the LAN port, meaning the full available bandwidth to the channel that is being used.
