Looking for some feedback and suggestions on what model / provider to get it from. Thanks. There seems to be dozens of knock-offs, and it's hard to tell what's what.

what's a Gizmo watch? sound's a bit faddish/silly.
my gifting inspiration comes from my father:
- a firm believer in only buying useful gifts for me and my brothers.
once he really splashed out big and got us a lawnmower, I mean a proper one with a motor  .

It's a basic smart watch for kids. Has GPS tracking, and has a feature where the kid can text or voice call a select list of recipients (usually dad/mom/nanny).

Mine originally bought the mower for himself, but I learned to drive on it years before I was allowed behind the wheel of a car.

Mine returns E_NOTSUPPORTED but then I'm gay and furthermore could only charitably be called human at this point.

My take is to give them a mickey mouse watch and let them break it before giving them something that costs real money.

That's about $95 more than I'd consider giving to a kid who's almost assured to lose/break it within a year.

just get the apple watch for kids. you will find it at an apple store look for the logo it looks like apple....

I don't have any Apple products at home - no phone/laptop/tablet/other-device. So I am not sure I want to spend that kinda money when there's no existing ecosystem to fit it into.

I'm with you. Although I do own a MacBook laptop--but only because I wanted to learn how to get around with MacOS and not be completely useless when faced with a Mac.
Although I bought it used, just to make sure Apple never got a penny from me. I refuse to contribute to that fund.

Pity that the number of people that don't have a elephanting clue and / or ignore such warnings is much bigger than it should
