It's not a cellphone, so it's reasonably likely that you don't need a lock screen to prevent things activating when you put it in your pocket.

To get rid of it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Personalization\

Personalization

Add a new DWORD(32-bit)
Name it NoLockScreen
Give it a value of 1

Then it goes straight to the log-in screen

Not 100% up to date, but it did give me some useful info.

Unfortunately to get access to the slider that disables the ads, I apparently have to completely disable Windows Spotlight, which then means that I can't get the pretty pictures either. Sigh | :sigh:

Rock and a hard place... Dead | X|

If all you want is the pretty pictures: disable the lock screen, as I described earlier, and use a screensaver to lock the machine.

The second solution in the above link (registry hack) seemed to do the trick for me. I get pretty pictures, but no ads (as far as I can tell right now anyway)! Smile | :)

Accidentally screwed up my .NET framework installation on Windows 10. Ran every tool out there to repair it, to no avail. Anything from v4 to v4.7.2 is toast, meaning it is installed, but corrupted somehow. Can't run any installer since every framework version is already installed. Any suggestions aside from reformatting?

.NET Framework Cleanup Tool User’s Guide - Nope.

.NET Framework Setup Verification Tool User’s Guide - Nope. It hangs on v4 and above.

Repair or reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework - QuickBooks Community - Nope, even though it said yes on everything but registering QuickBooks.

You may alter the registry here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP
Sign the framework uninstalled (or backup registry and remove the entries)...
