I have also noticed some anomalies with notifications within the last week. Some are repeats, sometimes the display was blank. Reputation was off on some pages too, but always fine on the home page

This morning, I had quite a few notifications, but no flag. After reading them all, I now have the flag telling me I've got 9 notifications, but there are none to read. 
There was also a reply to a message that didn't appear in the notifications list at all.

Received a notification just now. This "immediately" after I changed my password maybe coincidence. Can you please write a short reply for cross checking
It does not solve my Problem, but it answers my question

I used to work with a Mac fan. We were all Windows developers, and he was the only one who was always struggling do to simple tasks because his virtualized version of Windows kept crapping out in the strangest ways you'd never see on "regular" hardware (virtualized or not).

Poor guy. They are already crippling him with some iCrap thingy. They used Apple's pernicious marketing to gullible people straight out of college to screw him over on the first day at work and make him happy about it! Pure Evil! 
Way to go getting rid of any productivity threat!

I've had a few occasions recently when I come down in the morning and find the computer is already on, and has been for some hours. I've assumed that they have been windows updating itself while I'm asleep which is both good, and worrying, all at the same time.
Nope, it's worse.
My cat knows how to turn on my computer ... I didn't even know you could turn it on via the mouse but he does.
So, two things:
1) My cat knows more about my computer than I do.
2) Just what has he been doing online while I'm asleep?
