Have they improved any of the tools, such as the job running monitor (when you manually run a job)? Or maybe made it so you could select a number of jobs to run, specify the order and concurrency of each job?

No they haven't. And you still cannot change from running a SELECT statement to edit mode; plus the commands are in edit mode are different from those in query modes (e.g. Ctrl-R and F5 respectively to run the query).
