I've been re-watching Stargate SG-1 recently. I'm up to season 4 at the moment.

Not a franchise, but a worthwhile watch: Dark Matter[^].
Writing, acting, and production values are pretty good. Definitely worth a re-watch for me.

I watched it all, but didn't like the physics in it. The "blink drive" bugged me especially. "Oh let's plug this chip into our existing drive and all of a sudden we can be anywhere in the universe instantaneously."

I think it's called willing suspension of disbelief.

I really like The Expanse, whose third season is planned to air on April, 11th.
A story where Earth is confronted to two other entities who arose upon space conquest: Mars, and its military-based society, and the people living in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

The Expanse book series stands right up there with the Dune series and Foundation Trilogy (plus the later Foundation books) in terms of keeping me engrossed and eager for the next book

I've seen an episode or two and liked them although they seemed a bit slow. I had forgotten about the show. Maybe I should give it another try.

I can get that, the first episodes take their time to install the characters and describe the geopolitical situation of the show. You may enjoy it if you can get past them.

You missed Battlestar Galactica 
If you have not seen it(the recent version not the 70's version) you are missing out on some excellent sci-fi storytelling.
I stopped watching Doctor Who when it became overly political with regards to being overly conscious of and ramming gender politics down my throat(but that's the BBC for you...).

Yes the endings were not great(I say "endings" because there was the extra episode created which alse had an ending).
However as far as I was concerned the whole series was so well written that the poor endings did't spoil it.

Another honorable mention: "Blake's 7". They have the best space ship ever. And the most powerful super computer. 
I'm sure they can vaporize Starfleet starship, or Imperial Super Star Destroyer. Together. Using just one blast. While plying chest with Oracle
